Attn Server Owners

I know a lot of server owners don't want their servers flagged as modded, because you lose a lot of traffic. On the other hand, if every server out there has mods, then modded servers will be the only servers to join and everyone will join them equally.

With that in mind, I ask why only two servers have the Blowjob mod. The mod name is kinda bad, in that kids play the game and it might bother parents if they see "mods used: blowjob" in the description, but aside from that, this is seriously a must have for all servers. The devs have given us the tools to improve the game further, so I think everyone should use this mod at the least, as it's purely aesthetic and does not affect gameplay in any way.

In fact, I would even go so far as to say it should be implemented as an "official" KAG addon, but that might be going too far, for reasons that don't make any sense.

 

Weird to think back in classic the top servers (RAVE, and MOLE) where massively modded

 

Just to what Aphelion did and change the name to "Blow" or something less... sexual.

 

Maybe "Head Extension". No wait, that sounds dirty too. "Headjob"? Okay, definitely making this worse? "Player Heads"? I give up.


No but seriously, renaming it to something like "Head Customizer V##whatever" would probably be a good compromise. I honestly believe a lot of server owners aren't using it simply because of the name. My bro Joiken made me a head and I can only use the damn thing on a roleplay server and a classic KAG server. At the LEAST, if servers that were already modded included this mod, that'd be something useful, right?

 

Flat Maps w/ Tickets and Bunnies Super Smash Bros Server have it as well but they go on and offline. I agree with you on this though. More servers need Blowjob/Blow/HeadCustomizer or whatever.

If you can convince Leo to get in on the BD servers I'm sure Blowjob will get more publicity and there will be more of a push for other servers to do the same.

Yea I think the main problem with modded servers is that when people look at "mods used" in the description they worry that there could be harmful stuff in it and "don't want to get a virus"

 

I really asked Black Death owner Leo, how to make a server modded without the blue thingy.
They wont tell it, the only plugin I want is Chatcommands to be a good Owner, but certainly, I can't. :(

 

Idk about that, many many heads in that mod look like an effect of Picasso's painting having a miscarriage.

 

How in any conceivable way could you consider it a "must have" mod? Its effects are 100% cosmetic.

I don't want to denigrate the mod itself, which is an impressive bit of work. But you are vastly overestimating how much people give a shit about seeing other people's poorly drawn nonsense for the sake of their ludicrous circle-jerking vanity.

If I wanted to abuse my eyes with horrible unthematic textures scribbled by teenagers I'd go patrol deviantart and/or kill myself.

Let's look at a few heads in order to consider the point more constructively. I don't want to embarass anybody so naming no names, but consider the following examples:









In your honest opinion is the artwork of the game improved or worsened by the sudden jarring appearance of one of these monstrosities? Consider what it would be like if all majorly populated servers agreed to implement the mod. You would have little choice but to have the art style of the game ruined for you by people with incredibly shitty taste or artistic ability. That wouldn't seem so important if there were actually any worthwhile benefit to the mod, but what benefit does it offer at all? It's just other people exerting their vanity and it is of absolutely no value to anybody who doesn't themselves contribute a head.

I like the mod, its a good idea for people who do want to use it and some people have very nicely drawn heads, plus its an impressive bit of coding etc to boot. But having it used on every major server would be an absolute aesthetic torture because there is no quality control whatsoever on behalf of the users.

Removing those specific heads from the mod is a pain but possible

 

It's not just those I already linked. If I was feeling particularly mean spirited I could paste over another big list of heads which I don't think fit in at all to the game's art style (or any art style, for that matter). It's a moot point anyway because the more widespread you make the mod, the more people you will get signing up with a steady stream of apalling, low-effort contributions. It offends my human dignity that Klokinator thinks I should be forced into this nightmare against my will.

Of course, none of this would matter if individual players could opt in/out of seeing these atrocities on a server with the mod enabled. But to the best of my knowledge that option isn't currently available.

And I don't really see the issue. The majority of players won't even use the mod, and those who put such little effort into their heads that you feel the need to quote them, probably put as much effort into their KAG gaming experience. Meaning, they don't play much KAG anyway so you won't be seeing them ingame.

But for those of us who put effort into both (And I would argue that my Hello Kitty head is adorable and manly at the same time) having our custom heads on lots of servers would be a great touch.

Additionally, when I said "Make the mod official", I didn't mean "officially add it to the game" but instead "If you put it on your server, your server doesn't get flagged as modded". There's a difference.

This would be ideal too. Maybe people shouldn't be able to untoggle modded servers? They should always be in the list? It may also be because most people slap the auto-choose button and that ONLY uses vanilla servers, so anyone who uses automatch can never join modded servers.


In any case, the argument "The mod has some ugly heads so it shouldn't be on servers" is as poor an argument as "People can use kegs to demolish bases, therefore we should remove kegs". There are good heads in there with effort put into them, and seeing all the work that's been put into the mod and its content go to waste irks me.
