Arghhhhhhhhhh so I've made a map right using MS Paint. When I first saved it, I saved it as a .png on my desktop, I copy and pasted it into my map folder and loaded it up and everything worked, except I had forgotten to add a few things. So I quit, loaded up the map again in MS paint, added a few things, put it back in my folder, and NOW the only thing showing is bloody bedrock!

Its saved as a .png, and all the colours in it are fine, except for some reason when the game loads it, the only blocks showing are bedrock. One more weird things is that when I go to save it, it asks says that 'If I continue, all the transparency will be lost'. The only way to save it as a .png is to click OK, so I do. But yeah no fucking idea why my map won't work :huh?:
    heres the map:

EDIT: Oh yeah, one more thing, i've got the original saved in my map folder (which still works), and when I retry to make the changes (i.e. copy and paste it to my desktop, open it in paint, make my changes, then copy and paste it back into the map folder), it still doesnt work.

Yeah they are hahahaha, very important. The problem was that my castle didnt have backwall... so I tried to add it and then it died. I definitely have the right colour for backwall.... garrrrrrrrghhhh! I was making it for the rdm server but yeah clearly didnt turn out!

Unfortunately, the only thing I can suggest is starting from scratch, was pretty funny seeing the Henries splatter on the bedrock though.

Try using a different shade for the castle backwall... you never know...

I am not trying to be rude, but have you even read this:
    http://kagforum.com/index.php?threads/map-making-tutorial.1834/

Because you really should consider reading stickies before posting something in the according forum.

The reason why you are experiencing this problem is because you need to save it with 24-bit depth... you are saving with 32 bit depth I guess. Read the Sticky (the one I posted) it is outlined in there how to do this.

I did read this, and of course I read the sticky before I posted - there was nothing in there that was really relevant. I wasnt given the option to save it as 24-bit, but I assumed that it was a 24-bit save when the first time I saved the map, it worked. I even tried saving it as a 24-bit bitmap hoping that this would work but the Map editor doesn't seem to read bitmaps. I guess Ill just need to download a real paint program.

Ah okay, I would advice you to simply use paint.net its basically like paint with a few more options. Its even linked in that thread.
    KAG can't read bitmaps.
I hope you get your map working :)

EDIT: Yay! now that i downloaded print.net everythings working swell, gonna make a topic for the map now
