    Idea: Only auto-balance if a team has 15% more players than the other team.

    0 vs 2 <- Yeah, that's quite imbalanced
    14 vs 16 <- That's OK

    By the way the more players there are on a server the more unlikely it is that the balance it kept.

    16 players is more than a 5% increase over 14 players. Why shouldn't it just be 15v15 I don't see why the balance needs to be postponed in that situation.

    But then we have to consider what is an accurate measure of skill. I think what autobalance needs is some situational awareness. I've been autobalanced to the team that was about to cap our last flag just because they had fewer players. Not complaining, but I don't think that makes any sense in my former team's time of need.

    I don't think there is an accurate way to measure skill in KAG. The classes are to dissimilar and the types of play with in each of those classes vary widely. Each has the potential to contribute a lot to the game. On the note of adding "situational awarness" to autobalance, the problem is that there are far to many edge cases and possible disagreements to when someone should be balanced. I think a very simple deterministic rule such as the one we have currently is the best solution. (If a team has fewer players randomly select a player from the other team and swap them). This is often the best approach even if it occasionally has undesirable outcomes.

  6. autobalance doesn't swap players from the top half of the scoreboard. if you don't like being swapped try not to suck

    I've often seen people complain about autobalance; esp. if you've commited yourself to a team it can be a shizzly annoyance to be sent to help the enemy - obviously, you wouldn't understand as you don't play KAG, but fine. Also, it's often only a matter of a few minutes / seconds before a new chum joins. Autobalance shouldn't be based upon score as it currently is; doesn't make much sense. It should always swap the newest player.

    Worst time i've been autobalanced:

    I built a massive tower, they had 8v10, I rush as builder and die. Instant autobalance. Fml.

    I seriously think there should be a better auto balance system, maybe choosing which team has the most of a class and take the worst scoring picked class to the other team?

  10. So the grief was the autobalance's fault? I get balanced all the time and while it can be annoying, it's even worse to play an unbalanced match. If I can suck it up and be a good sport so can you.

    I find it humorous that I see Verrazano in game more often than I see you. Just sayin' :potato:

    Like it was said in another thread, autobalance should put players who last joined (or is somewhere in the middle), instead of someone who carries the (losing) team.

    The thing is, sometimes autobalance doesn't realize which team is "losing" and swaps people onto the winning team.

    Perhaps it could measure players horizontal positions (perhaps the average of all the players on the team) to determine which team is winning.

    Swapping the newest person would mean the same person gets swapped endlessly in certain situations. On red, swapped to blue, but now red has too few and you're swapped back (because you're still the newest player), then swapped again, etc.
