While playing earlier i accidentally dropped into this trap:

Then i thought - This is a great hiding place for knights or any other class for that matter. If you only made it two wide and with no spikes at the bottom it would be perfect if the other team were on the offensive to jump in, keep your head down for a mo then back stab them when they had gone past!

    1. Put a wall where that builder is standing.
    2. Hide where you are as an archer with a ton of arrows
    3. Wait until the respawns are over, and a bulder is trying to ladder over the wall
    4. Shoot him. And all that follow. Mercilessly.
I'd keep the spikes. Just have a builder add them while you're down there. As an archer, you won't be jumping anyway. Of course, you'll likely die to a bomb by the end, but still.

If its two wide, that's not likely to happen. But even if they do, you can surprise them and just spam attack.

He gets spiked, has at most 1.5 hearts left, and then subjected to a point blank shot.

Unless you're talking about his. Then you'd just dig your way out. Still, a good stall, at least?

A better hiding place is to dig a two wide by three deep hole. Place teamdoors and the top and the rest teambridges. You will be completely hidden in the hole and can pop out behind people to massacre them.

You should make it four blocks deep so they have the potential of trapping people in there.

Ugh, this would be annoying if you fell for something like this. Be even funnier while your waiting down there I throw a bomb into it.

I dig those all the time, it's just that nobody ever falls into them because I'm always on the winning team for some odd reason.

Maybe it's because I tell them to play defensively and they actually do it, I dunno.

More likely they are put onto the defense by a failed first charge.
The problem is, when people are playing defensively, they're still acting aggressive, and usually end up just throwing themselves against the elite knights of the other team.
Things like the Ninja Hole, as I dub thie 2x3 hole with doors at top and bridge below, help alleviate that.
