Have been playing Kag since version 1 and now all of a sudden whatever server I join I get kicked for this whole "You may have been hacking or have a bad server connection or update your AMD drivers." I don't have AMD and I *definitely* don't hack, yet because my Comcast internet fluctuates every now and then it warrants banning me from servers? Just about anyone knows I've been playing this game on and off for *YEARS* and all of a sudden my favorite pass time is blocked due to some new auto kick feature? I'm all for getting rid of hackers but when it is pushed so far as loyal and loving gamers are getting kicked as well, that's pushing it too far. Is there a reason that this is happening? I have 2 internet connections and I'm getting booted for both so I don't know what is going on. Unsure where to post this, but some kind of rational would be appreciated.

That would be better as a bug report, this bug being due to the new anti-speedhack filter that came on.

Firstly, the ban is 30 mins, nothing permanent, and isn't linked to a report/tracking system (though some admins do forward cases of it happening to us).

This has nothing to do with your internet or the server, it's detected on your end based on the rate of time passing and the (game, not rendered) framerate detected. If you have something funny with your system clock that might cause it? Otherwise the game is running fast (>30fps for ten seconds consecutively), which is the same thing as speedhacking, which is why it's getting detected and you're getting kicked.

Sorry that this is happening to you, but i'll need more info like your OS, anything funny with your clock set-up, overclocking status, etc to be of much help.

Tried playing again today and I get kicked from both the US Official servers and Black Death US within 5-6 minutes of joining. However I can stay on the modded Shiprekt server indefinitely. You are right they are 30 minute boots but it makes the game unplayable for me.

As for my set up I'm on 64bit windows 7. Bit of an old computer but has runs KAG without any issues. When you say clock settings its standard PST time, haven't done anything to that. I have very little knowledge about overclocking but I have sped my processor by feeding it a little more power turning it from a 2.3 quad to a 2.5 I think. It's a Intel Core Quad Q8200 2.33 GHz. This is the same rig I've been playing kag on for years and only have started getting this kicking issue since last update.

I'll provide any information I can, I've spent more hours on this game then just about any other so whatever needs to be done to get it working I'll be happy to do.

The Wireless transmitter I use is 2 years old, but my modem I recently bought 5 months ago, however I've been playing KAG using both up until this issue.

put your clock speed back to stock, upgrade your drivers, and report back

Resetting clock speeds back to the default DID fix the issue, thanks for that.

Mind if I ask why that is an issue? Was it actually making me faster in KAG just because of a bump in processor speed? I only ask because it means I've got to swap it back and forth for different programs which is a bit tedious, but something I will put up with for the sake of Kag.

Maybe does it "overclocks" some system clock too and it boosts up a bit KAG's speed, so it triggers the antihack?
I don't think there's an alternative way to fix it.

Must have been making it a bit faster or skewing the system time, yeah - KAG just uses the timing resources that we're given by the OS and by the libraries we use for frame rate management; there's nothing special about the way we do it, it's by-the-book implementation using time() in the case of the anti-hack (as provided by the standard library), and sleep() in the case of the frame limiting (as provided from irrlicht).

The anti-cheat just counts frames per second of system time; if it's consistently over-speed for 10 seconds it triggers, that's it.
It's not unbeatable or whatever but without introducing "tolerance" into it and allowing "subtle" speedhacks like up to 5% or so and encouraging that bullshit there's not much we can do that's more careful :/
