Option 1: Make a remake of what was MLK. Season tournaments with increasing points due to matches played each season.
Option 2: Create a permanent league with ELO-type ranking with eventual tournaments happening ever once in a while.

Choose wisely! This will affect KAG greatly. These options were provided by Colargolator.

kag isn't fun when it is competetive. only narcissist kiddies play for KDR. kag is most fun when you're skilled, but you don't play for KDR.

Competitive is not playing for KDR, competitive is playing 5v5 with teamwork to cap flags.

There's very few issues between clans on the outcomes of clan wars.

And you'd be a fool to compare a high-level CW to playing pubs, kek.

KDR only has importance in a deathmatch. It doesn't mean anything anywhere else, and this applies to KAG as well.

Of course, if you can kill more enemies on the enemy team and achieve a higher KDR, then that's obviously helping your team. Your team's average KDR (per class) reflects your relative chances to win, but it has no impact once the game is over. It doesn't matter if your team did extremely well or very poorly; if you lost, you lost, and if you won, you won. We could probably attach something to the standard ELO system specifically for KAG that increases or decreases your ELO based upon the average KDR of each class in your team at the end of the match, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to let KDR influence the match. If you have a team of all builders, the average KDR for knights and archers would be 0, and probably somewhere around 0.02 for the builders, but if you win against the odds your chances of winning will be so low that your ELO will either skyrocket or not move at all, depending on how we let KDR influence ELO. That is, if we even let it influence ELO.

One of the problems with adding a KDR influence to the ELO system is that we'll need to take perfect screenshots of the games once they're over. That means no photoshopping the KDRs for a better ELO, which means we would either need very trustworthy players or we would need a team of neutral spectators (unaffiliated with any clan) to watch every game and take screenshots of the leaderboards when they're over.

    Aye. Agreed.
Even through many of the KAG community is casual, still competitive sometimes is always nice for some players.

I have more fun playing "competitively" than in pub matches. By far.
