    I've never cried because of a game..


    Actually someone hit me in the face with a wii controller... think I cried like one tear.

    Back on topic, brothers is pretty sad, closest a games came to making me cry. I wouldn't advise the people who think legend of zelda endings are sad.

    Actually minish is sad at the end because there will never be a new zelda game by that dev... D'=

    I'd have to say Nier and Bastion. Nier is just an outright all-you-can-cry-buffet, what with everything being depressing as fuck. Bastion's ending made me bawl, I hated having to make those choices. :QQ:

    Okay, I gotta necro this thread because I am very, VERY disappointed nobody said Mother 3. That's probably one of the most depressing games I've played in the last 10 years.

    Also not mentioned thus far:
    • Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons ('narrative through game mechanics' 101. so much feels :< )
    • Max Payne (no tears, but much feels. some of the best detective noir I've come across; same for MP2)
    • Max Payne 2 (yes, I did go back and play it through three times just so I could get the alt ending. Such a softie for MP1 & 2; MP3 is a load of rancid horse spike and a massive jerkoff in the face of the craft that went into the previous two stories).

    Haven't really seen a lot of newer games that got me attached and made me really sad when something bad happens.

    Also, I don't know what I was thinking in April, and why I didn't say it, but Fire Emblem Awakening is probably the game that has given me all the feels thus far. Support convos in that game make you attached to each character, and you can't imagine losing a single one of them. And FEA is so far the only game for making me feel sadness, rage, and guilt all at the same time (fucking chapters 9 & 10).
