Actually yeah, the blue curtains are a comment, a declaration if you will of the state of mind he's currently in. Not only is this sadness portrayed through the use of curtains, this symbolises the lack of importance he gives to his feelings; IE; He does not face nor confront the inner despair he knows lurks within him. Perhaps it's also a parallel with the game he plays, a dying game (KAG) to go along with a dying inner self? In any case, both these aspects identify the sole reason he continues to play KAG, by ensuring that the kag community survives, perhaps there is some hope that he will survive as well. That is to say, by keeping KAG alive, he preserves the one hope he has within, that death *can* be beaten, that despair *can* be conquered. The ultimate irony of this being that while the KAG community stays in stasis, so does he. He is freed and at the same time constrained by the very game he seeks to preserve, in the sense that his woe comes from never facing up to his mortality. These curtains represent not only his inner anguish but his reluctance to let go, of KAG, of hope, and to face the oblivion that surely faces him.
