So when I get bored, sometimes I like to just login to a random empty server and make a structure of some kind.

I logged into the 200x200 CTF server, and made this beauty on the blue teams side.

This is it, in its basic entirety. The idea for me, was to make an amazing fortress for archer defense. Perfect? No. I used a lot of team bridges so that there would be all shit-tons of FOW to hide the various elements of it. It's not very cost efficient, so please examine it more as a work of art then as something you'd see often on a server. Let's take a look at the essential design.

Knights, if just charging out to battle, charge across the bridges without jumping, and walk out the front door, grabbing bombs along the way, if they like. Archers however, can drop down into this area (Two layers of team doors, one on top and one immediately afterwards, to really slow down an enemy.) and there, the magic happens.

From here, they can fire arrows through these chutes. When doing so, they are untouchable by knights, (Edit: Except via bombs, though the knights should be busy defending themselves, as explained in a minute...) and only enemy archers with the sharpest of aim can even come close to touching them. The idea was to make it easy (Too easy, in fact) for two knights to just shield up and charge for the front door. Once he jumps up to the second ledge, archers can pummel him from the left, from above, and from...

Below! Yes, the whole thing allows for an allied archer to drop down And shoot the knights from the bottom. With a 3 way line of fire, most knights will be pressed to find a way around this and will be slaughtered very quickly.

BUT, sometimes archers aren't enough. You need YOUR knights to be able to have some fighting ability too. That's why there's an ambush hole further to the right, also serving as a secret way of digging to the enemy base once the match starts!

So, any comments? This OP will be being updated as I add more of my creations here.

Spent about 30 minutes on this one. Had to erase and rework some blocks and stuff.

Anyway I call this one the Archers Barricade. The reason? The entire point of this structure is to slow your enemies progress down to a crawl. Now, realistically, you'll never have the time to make a structure like this, let alone the patience with retarded teamates running around, so we'll just call it another work of art. (I'll make practical structures... eventually...)

Ah... isn't it beautiful? (Ignore ladders to the right, forgot to delete those.) This has a lot of mechanics from my previous post, but it also has some improvements.

    1. The entrance to the lower part, where all your archer holes are located, starts behind the base where it's safest.
    2. There is an arrow shop located underneath, where, assuming the enemy took the base somehow, said archer still has access to munitions, possibly holding out until help arrived.
    3. A catapult. Nuff said. Great for murdering enemies before they even get close. (Stupid fuckin' reds, think they own me or somethin'.)

The entire goal of this thing is to be a massive pain in the ASS to capture, assuming the blue team has competent archers. First, the enemy has three arrow funnels to deal with. OUCH. Then your archers rain hell from above! And at some point they stop durr hurring around and get a damn builder up there, and ladder into your base. OH CRAP YOU MUST BE SCREWED!

Not quite. By this point, they're feeling quite confident. They break through the first door. But wait, isn't that an archer hole above the... OH IT IS. Now they have to shield themselves from the asshole on the roof shooting through the funnel (Probably giggling maniacally the whole time). It takes them a while, but they finally break through door 2.

Now comes door three. They're feeling kinda confident by this point. (I'm assuming of course that blue team has shitty knights who haven't killed them off by this point.) Now they go for door number three and FUCK an archer starts shooting them in the ass from that hole in the ground! Personally, I'd be pretty pissed by this point. BUT NO MATTER, they break through door three and... FUCK NOT ANOTHER DOOR. Now they're forced to attack straight upwards but FUCK now this asshole archer runs around (Giggling like a 12 year old girl the whole time) and starts shooting them from the left.

Now, if you have 1-3 good archers, you could hold this base a long time. The ceiling is only one tile thick, so concievably a builder could break through, if he wasn't murdered by the archers first. However, that assumes that your knights are completely incompetent. If archers and knights worked well together, this fortress would take a very long time to destroy.

Hope it gave people ideas, anyway. Sorry for double post, dunno if spoilers work and I don't wanna clutter the OP.

Looks pretty good although what if a builder gets to that archers hole in the ground? the enemys have a free tunnel into your fort :(

If a builder gets there, use two archers with fully charged shots. With good teamwork, those little holes serve their purpose of being murder holes, see?

My suggested tactic would be to get a builder to follow the knights, and plug 1 stone block over each hole.

    Also, needs more stonefall traps.

How about I work those into my next design? :D And yeah, that's a good viable option.
