<MM47> we have our internal reporting system and I use that, can't manage to check mantis, forums and whatever else

Ok, could anyone explain to me why we would consider posting bugs?
MM didn't hear about the player countdown bug until today!!!!?!?!!!1!

So this post is to Geti:
I've played soldat, so I love MM's games, but I hate his complete lack of interest in bug fixes, and so far I totally love your interest in the community! (chatting with us and showing your interest in the progress)
I've even thought you were his 2nd personality caring about us. (-sry MM, but you seems to lack the interest Geti has :( - )
So please Geti, this is an appeal to you, could you please care about us, we might want some zombie update, but could you please fix some bugs and learn from notch, fuck the bugged minecrafts, at the bugfixes. We (seriously) love your games and might want some more features, but bugs are way more annoying than things you 'promised' us at updates. <3 <3 <3

Please use mantis, I've seen mantis as a way to reach coders directly for serious bug without going trough some werid moderation system.
Dont takes this post as an offence, please, you as well MM, please, we are just trying to help you guys, what would be faster than posting bugs to you, pming at IRC would just be annoying. We don't expect you to fix them all within a week, but you should at least know about them.
PLEASE, don't delete all bug-reports like MM did at soldat. (I don't even know if you even know, but it's going to same way, we had like 100 bugs and MM seriously just deleted all bugs at mantis without fixing them, and acted like all bugs were fixed)
This game is at it's alpha phase so that means there are quite some bugs to fix.

If you don't feel like fixing bugs again, please sell this game, you might get some money for this game, seriously. PLEASE. Sell this game or fux the bugs, it has so much potential, but it has so much more potential if you fix bugs instead of adding features!

Additional comment: take a spin doctor! Some one should take care of your PR (for free) Or it would help if would help if you knew if you knew what is going on at your game. Yes, YOUR game!!!

I can understand your frustration and disappointment, especially when I know how much effort you put into bug-hunting and reporting.

I disagree on this point. The time of free labour is over. And especially when you know that the game is making dough. I suppose it's what separates the men from the boys of (how much longer-)indie development, how seriously you are taking other people's efforts. Can't expect yourself to be an eternal free-rider. Accountability on both ends is not necessarily bad.

Have to go now, will amend later.

You should read the IRC logs from here : http://logs.kag2d.nl/#kag/2012-01-16.html#18:37:08

MM said he corrected a lot of bugs already and Geti and Furai are checking the bugs on Mantis for him.

MM is busy developping the game and can't read every message on the forum, bugs reports on mantis, his PM and IRC.

I agree though that he should fix issues before releasing new stuff. The 1-block-wide tunnel is driving everyone crazy.

I was quite wasted when I made that last post, but seriously, he didn't even know the unit counter bug existed. Who knows what bugs are fixed.
I totally understand he cant read every forum post, but why cant he read mantis, if someone has to forward every bug to him, that will mean he has to forward every post on mantis. Then explain to me, why wouldn't he just read it himself.

Hey Downburst (and the rest of the community),

Firstly, we're not planning on selling KAG or just dropping development any time soon.
Secondly, (I know this is going to frustrate a lot of people) the game is currently in alpha. That means everything is subject to change. Anything can and probably 70% of stuff will go through more change. Once the game goes beta, we'll be doing focussed refinement cycles and finalising everything. I know it's frustrating when there are bugs, but it's also frustrating when development moves at a snails pace.

We've just done (or are in the process of releasing depending on when this gets posted) a bugfix release (interrupting zombie development work) to help appease the masses and to keep the game playable, but honestly I sat down and played public for about 3 hours today (on alias and off) and only a few bugs actually interfered with the game (squeezing, counter issues and some lag teleporting). The chat up the top bugs me a little but that's MM's choice.

Thing is, when we sit down and tweak things and remove bugs for months and months, the game stops being fun to work on and you guys stop seeing any real progress.

As for reporting bugs, bugs.kag2d.com plus reminding me on IRC is the best way to go about it. I'll forward them on if they aren't already on the list of things to be fixed, as we have our own internal listing system. Most of the bugs that get reported are things we already know about and have scheduled time to fix, but it's better to have duplicates than no reports either way.

    Now, me and the community...

Of course I'll stay around and chat with you guys! I'm not going to vanish, though as traffic increases I'm not going to be able to keep up with the amount of material posted (I'm having trouble as is). If it seems like I care about the community, it's because I do - don't forget that.

I hate bugging you guys on IRC about bugs cause I dont want to talk about bugs with you and you probably hear about these bugs far too much.

Thanks with the new bugfix you just released, you fixed 1 bug that's on mantis. (100 to go :p)
I know not all bugs on mantis are real important, and I know this game is in alpha, but assuming you're going into beta when the zombie release is done, you should consider fixing most of them before adding more bugs :)

You might want to fix the broken next map voting btw, any map just restarts when you vote for the next map.
+ Transforming enemy teamdoors in your team's doors within 2 clicks
+ outposts being bugged so you just spawn at the place the outpost used to be

I will stick to Mantis anyway. Sooner or later bugs will be patched.
If I were developer I would only use Mantis and internal crash report system.
I don't know what everyone else thinks but for me
    bugs > features
I'm not tellin' to only fix bugs but bugs like 1-block-wide-tunnel should not exist. They just fck up whole game.

You guys are so awesome! Its ok if development for the zombie build takes a little while longer. I know the longer it takes, the funner it will be. Plus you guys are a two man team so its not like im expecting updates like everyday. Anyway keep up the great work. :D:D:D
