Is anyone even excited for this? Does anyone else hate the prequels as much as I do?

For anyone that does hate them as much as I do, you should check out the Plinkett reviews on RedLetterMedia. They're some of the funniest most indepth reviews I've ever seen. In fact, the Episode 1 review is 70 minutes long! The Episode 3 review is longer than the actual movie!

They're truly hilarious and you should check them out if you haven't already seen them.

Also, discuss how terrible Episode 1 in 3D will be.

You ever grown to love someone? I don't mean romantic love, I'm talking brohan level love. You think about it is how awesome it is that you have that someone in your life. You're excited too see them when you can, genuinely happy. You have moments together that happen often, little in jokes that are a nuanced part of what you share. Even when they're away you're reassured and know they'll be back and you can hang out with them. They get you, always have your back and vice versa.

Then one day its over your bro has gotta move away to Australia because the economy is bad and he wanted for smuggling butter over the border. You are fairly certain you'll never be able to see them again but you do have the photos from the good times to remember all the fun. Then one day many years into the future you get a letter from your old pal. He's coming back home at long last and wants to hang out and grab a brewki. You're excited at the opportunity to get back in touch with this old friend you loved like a brother.

You arrive at the bar you both would frequent years ago, a homage to the great times you had together. You greet them with a warm hug and a smile sit down and begin to have you pint with them. Something feels a little off but you dismiss it and just try and enjoy the discussion. But as the conversation wears on your begin to realise that the person sitting in front of you isn't the friend you remembered. Their opinions and mannerisms are coarse and shallow, the depth of their character and humour has been spoiled in the pursuit of wealth. They have been spoiled and are an empty husk of the person you once knew, they are shaped the same, some of the features differently.

Think of the original star wars as the friend before he goes away. And the later star wars when he comes back. Episode 1 in 3D is like him coming back with a new tattoo to show you and borrow a few hundred bones after you've been spending years avoiding him because he wont leave you alone and you don't like him anymore but still treasure the old times which have been more than a little spoilt by his presence.

Best explanation of the prequels I've ever heard. Ever.
