[319] Squeezing is still not fixed :/

    Squeezing is still not fixed. You need to dig a slightly different entrance than before and not hold 'up' while entering the hole.

    Apparently I chose a bad time to pop out. Derp
    As a bonus lighting has made this glitch more effective. The squeezer and his path are completely invisible from outside and very hard to spot on minimap.

    Fortunately most people don't know how to squeeze and this doesn't ever happen by accident.

    Good for the developers to know, I hope the players won't find it out too fast.

    By the way, admins should totes get some tool that they could view the map with, without being concerned by the fog. Squeezing is now near impossible to detect..

    Map editor? Probably, though it allows some easy exploiting, so many server owners don't want to set that on for their admins. And it doesn't seem to disable fog in the current version. Mhm.

    I just realized you can't do this with any other class than knight because charging is needed to get in. If you still fail to reproduce, try harder. On the right side of this screenshot is a B/W step-by-step guide.

    I have seen "man cannons" on maps, the purpose of these is to shoot you at an angle to an area that is ony accessible by the man cannon. With the addition of team doors it makes it hard even for teams with builders to use. This is a very dangerous way to travel and I have seen sizable piles of bodies where many have failed the man cannon jump. Simpler versions of this can be used as elevators and keg launchers, but it is extremely difficult to launch a keg becuase one would have to release it while traveling super fast (while still in the launcher basically) and usually results in the death of the person launching. It is pretty funny to see people die in this way and luckily it seems to be a relatively rare thing, premium and regualer servers.

    The first two squeezing types are fine imo, and in fact it would be sad to see them ''fixed''. Why? Well, when you're tunneling, it really gives you a FEELING of being in a small tunnel, pushing yourself upwards / downwards.

    The last squeezing.. terrible. I hope it'll be fixed.

    Yeah I quite like it too, it'd be nice if it was made so it worked in both directions in the same fashion though if it's gonna stay in the game.

    That's... Just... Retarded.

    Like Monsteri said, those first two are good because they make you feel like you're in a cramped space. But why would you want to keep the last one in? It breaks gameplay. Learn to play the game without relying on exploits, for fucks sake.

    actual squeezing is being slowly stomped and will never be considered a legit mechanic. We're going to fix the part of the collision code that allows it asap, probably along with auth if possible.

    Cheers for the heads up and especially for the demo blue.

    Apparently if you're playing on Jade's server for long enough, you'll learn that exploiting map editor and building squeeze elevators seems to be a famous habit around there. Cough*.

    In part right cos I didn't really read the post above me properly, I was just agreeing with tunnel squeezing (if it could be made symmetrical), won't miss it too much if it's been removed like it seems to though.

    If you're talking about all forms of squeezing that'd be nice, however, I'd also like to mention that if you're "fixing" the squeezing, please make it work for most ways forward and back -- I can recall a game in which I squeezed in a very slight manner into a tunnel, attempting to intercept a knight, with myself and himself remaining as the last two players.

    I squeezed in one way and I couldn't get back out, so I died because I was trapped. This is the kind of thing I would like to be much more apparent, straight-forward and clear. :3

    Mega squeezing is a problem but moderate squeezing is pretty much the only thing that makes tunnel fights possible.

    I agree, squeezing is integeral to a lot of part of king arthurs gold, and it seems a natural part of the movement, like vaulting. This creates problems though, because since there is squeezing it can also be used in ways that exploit it. My question is, instead of trying to fix squeezing and creating new problems along the way would it be possible to do like some other games and make it so that if a person tries a exploit squeeze they would be killed, this could also be turned off by a server admin if he or she felt like it, letting some servers to allow it (for what reason I do not know).

    I don't get why you'd want being able to magically teleport through tight places to be a feature.

    Maybe somehow crawling can be implemented? Like, we have a duck button but it doesn't do much, so maybe you can "squeeze" through a 1 high hole, but you go half speed since in a sense you're crawling, pushing yourself through a tight space. It leaves you incredibly vulnerable since you move so slowly, and you can't turn around. That'd be interesting.

    To add to that, if you are a skilled knight it is actually a very useful move, ie. You can't get shield bashed by another knight and you also can't get head stomped either as a builder *I think* or as a knight they just fall through you, I haven't tried this trick as an archer yet.

    Haha, yes, this works for archer as well. I'm an advocate for using prone and other types of quirky maneuvers -- mostly because they are practical, but only in the hands of a person who really truly knows how to use them, Hell even I don't use prone as much as I should, or use prone to prevent shield bash collisions.

    Okay, yes, laying prone works for that. But just kneeling as a knight/builder doesn't do much, at least, not that I've ever seen.
