  9. Summon Night Swordcraft Story, closely followed by the GTA 3 trilogy (that is, Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas). That's right, 3 games all make up to my second favorite game.

Google chinese checkers, an entirely different game, the name was just never properly translated.

Also as much as I love SMB3, I'd have to revise that list:

Go (Wei Qi) > Chinese Checkers > Super Mario Bros 3 (Tied with Checkers cause FUCK)

    Mass Effect trilogy
Fallout 1 and 2 (I refuse to include the Bethesda versions), Tactics/Brotherhood of Steel to a lesser extent.
Diablo 2 + Lord of Destruction

(I liked the Summon Night: Swordcraft Story series on the GBA, it's a shame Atlus never localized the third game)

I would have to say that out of the games that I have played, GTA would probably be at the contested top spot. There is just something about the game and the feel it brings that makes me really want and enjoy it. Though, I mainly play on the PS3 so I am not quite sure how the similar computer release would be able to keep up but I am guessing it would be something close and similar.

    X-3: Terran Conflict
    Mount & Blade (+ Warband)
    Golden Sun 2

The fifth spot would probably be contended between Rome Total War, Borderlands, Tomb Raider 3, Metal Gear Solid, Front Mission 3... I forget some from time to time and often change my mind. But the first 4 are pretty concrete.

  20. I also had GTA as one of my favorite games (although I was leaning towards the more classic ones). What makes it fun (in my opinion) is the freedom and exploration. See, I was given Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City from my cousin at the age of 9. I had only played number 2 at this point, and enjoyed the top-down mayhem. Although, nothing can compare to the first time I played Vice City. It had humor, style, an excellent soundtrack but above all I felt free to do what I wanted. In real life, you are told not to hurt people, obey the rules, grow up to be a good person. In this mind-blowing game, you could do "bad things" (as I would've called it at the time) and not only was it acceptable, you got rewarded in most cases. Needless to say, an adolescent BeasterDenBeast spent many hours in this entire series. Although, being a fan of the older one's, GTA IV disappointed me, lacked the bright humor and stereotypes of American society. Although GTA 5 is coming out and its based in San Andreas, I'm most definitely looking forward to that.
