I can't tell you how many times when I'm playing as a builder, I'll have three hearts and be chasing an enemy builder into a cave or something, and they throw down spikes hoping to stop me. It doesn't work. Those take one click to remove, and upon doing so also gives me +10 stone. Stop doing it, morons. Use stone blocks, those take a lot longer to break and can really slow me down.

On a sidenote: ladders. I love ladders too. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they negate fall damage and stop you instantly. I got trapped in an enemy bottomless pit one time (Surviving only because there was a lucky singular block that I latched onto) And I built ladders across the bottom. My teamates fell in, and to their delight didn't die. (It was some 40-60 blocks above us where the trap entrance was located.) We started tunneling under the base and grabbed their flag before they knew what hit them. (And I read the chat logs afterwards. "Oh shit they got our flag wtfff I thought they couldn't make it past the front!")

However, ladders are not great if you have nooby teammates. I had my own teammate collapse a ladder I was standing on "because team bridges are better". No, they are not. They cost exactly 10x as much to make, and are almost always eliminated by the enemy upon discovery. They take 2x longer to set up, and if the enemy builder destroys one gets 10 wood, (Sometimes 20 based on damage to team ladder) instead of 2. If you destroy all the enemy team ladders on the outskirt of their base, and replace them with ladders, the enemy still finds them useful for retreat, sometimes not destroying them and conveniently leaving them there for you to use >:3

Not only that, but you can spam a fuckton of ladders vs only 1-3 team ladders, making them pesky to remove if against a wall. A lot of enemy knights are too lazy to do that many clicks to eliminate something that they find useful.

    Therefore: Spikes = I <3 u. Ladders = very useful.

Ladders are not used as much as they should be ill be screaming ladders to get up a 30 block tower to my team builders and they try to use team bridges when ladders would have gotten use over in seconds. The enemy kept destroying team bridges cause builders kept leaving to get wood.

You mean Spikes I hate you?

And why tell people to start putting down stone, that's just making it hard for you. Do you know how many times a trapped a builder as a knight and then they put spikes to defend them self? 9 out of 10 I kill them. I don't want a harder challenge for a clumsly ol' knight like me. Plus, in other words, it's called hiding, curling, being scared, and others. So really, the best thing to do is charge and attack. KAG is a fast pasted game and hiding isn't gonna make it go any faster. But that is just my opinion.

Also, ladders are much better then trap doors. In clan wars I've attented, I've seen that people do the 'Ladder Spam' and easily get over the openents wall, claiming it as theirs. Lot easier then wasting a ton of wood on bridges. Also, after a wall is claimed, you can put the bridges up after. And the ladder "Safe Fall" tecnike ( <----How do I turn on spell check?) works very well. I've used it many times, and I've seen it be used in lots of custom maps.

Only downside of ladders is that there easy to take down, also know as, 'easy to greif'. :/
And again, this is just my opinion.

PS: And AJ, I think the dragon egg things are banned from the server.

Because I want to make sure my opponents are on the same level as me. Makes it more satisfying to ... crush them :3

Ladders can also slow people down and make an effective killzone for archers.

Ladders and Bridges have their own very separate uses now. Ladders are for slowing people down, possibly going up on your side if you need to go up fast (never up from the enemy unless you break them behind you before they get there), stopping fall damage, rushing a base with little wood.

Bridges are for: One team access.

You can seperate ladders by two blocks now and they will still be effective climbing tools.

Interesting technique with ladders: Jump and delete. Right click on a ladder to delete it, and jump at the exact same time. It's sad how many people don't know about this technique. Saves time and effort, and works for knights as well as builders :D
