I started making this tower which is good on the front line on a flat map, It uses alot of resources if you trap door it all but is good for archers. What you cant see in this pic is the tunnel, the tunnel is there because people can't get in then and you lean on the doors and shot your arrows through any suggestions I am open to!

Was in the wrong section, so I moved it to classes and mechanics > builder

And put the build number in.

It's been noted before in the bunker thread, which you should check out, but it's good enough to deserve it's own thread.

One thing I often notice is that builders have a need to make their buildings symmetrical and resembling a real-life tower, as if they had to defend with equal force against enemies coming from behind them as well. In this case at least the climb on the safe side of the tower could be removed and replaced with anything from a staircase to a big configuration of modular structures. Not that it shouldn't be defended on the team side, just less and with different methods. In a way, this thing is really great as a modular piece to the front end of a building.

The concept of a "dark tower" is really fascinating, I've never built one in-game though because it is such a resource hog. However if you think about it . . . On flat maps you have an abundance of trees and usually not much stone, so buildings utilizing this are actually cheaper in time to create.

A couple problems with this tower is a knight can easily kill a stupid archer from the inside by poking him through the hole, also the squeeze mechanic allows knights to teleport through 1x1 spaces with a slash. So if you have a tunnel inside the tower leading through your base, be sure to block it with a few acavado traps and or team doors. Also archers don't have a very good angle from those types of holes, the best you can get is usually a 50-60degree spread, whereas something like this gives you a much larger area for archers to shoot with.

Overall though it is a neat tower. :B):

I used to make tons of dark towers before when we had infinite startup resources and bridges were 10, now it's too time consuming

Yeah I saw someone do this in (!) unlimited and he had that much trap doors it spanned half of the map and not even in a straight line!!!

  7. Only way I make "dark spots" are if its in the start up and it's usually a small space like a archer bunker above or hidden in the ground under a main base. Before the squeezing glitch became a main part of some knight's strategy lol I think it's fixed this build so I will have to try some again
