A question about the games name o.O

Sooo i just realized, what does KAG actually have to do with king arthurs gold o.O i've seen no king arthur or any mention of his people or castle XD.. its just a death match with teams. Wheres the name come from, will this be part of the future rpg aspect ?

 

There is this old game called "King Arthur's World". I think that's where they kind of stole the name from. I do NOT know if this was intentional, but that's as much as I know.

 

They didn't steal the name. It's just inspired by king arthurs world.

In king arthurs world (snes) you command king arthur and his men through various worlds with other troops and hazards.

The units were:

Knights: These are like Kags knights. They have a sword and are the best in close combat.

Soldier: These just have a large shield to block any and all things, like kags knights.

Tnt man: Men carrying large barrels of explosives, one at a time. Powder kegs would be these when they get added to kag.

Archer: Like the kag archer, they fire arrows. In game you could only fire at 3 different angles, so you had to use them carefully.

Engineer: Essentially kags builder, they can build a catapult that fired fire stones, use a battering ram, build bridges across gaps, build a small version of a siege tower (like a ladder to climb) and build new tents to spawn from (like outposts)

White wizard: Can cast restorative and buffing spells, like heal, invincibility and buffed strength.

Black wizard: Casts offensive spells such as kill all units on screen, lighting, fireballs, single shot fireball and unit paralysis.

 

King Arthur's World was an influence indeed, as evidenced in http://kagdev.tumblr.com/day/2011/05/10 the very first post of kagdev

 

And I guess the ''Gold'' part comes from the first gamemode, gold hunt.

 

It will all make sense in adventure mode.

 

Wow, everything makes a lot more sense now.

 

In the olden days of KAG there were these goldsacks of which the last alliances fought bravely for but to this day they have been lost, but traces of their existence can be found in veins of gold underground thus continuing the war.

 

Now I want a little pointy hat to wear.

 

That kinda sounds like TheEpicBards post Kagology... any similarities?
