The other day I was having fun as usual exploring and causing havoc on the battlefields of KAG when I thought to myself how cool a sequel to KAG would look. While it's way too soon to be thinking about a KAG sequel since we are only one year into KAG's development, I couldn't help wanting to share what would make a great sequel.

I'm thinking along the lines of a 2D version of Battlefield since both that game and this one rely on gameplay that involves teamwork. KAG would reach new heights of cool with vehicles and little 2D sprites inspired by the vehicles from the Advance Wars series on the GameBoy Advance and Nintendo DS.

You would have your infantry class, tank class or classes, long range artillery, air units and supply and transport armoured classes, oh and who could forget your cruisers, carriers and BATTLESHIPS.

Now that I've written all that down, that looks like it would be a HUGE game. Getting a large enough player base to operate all that machinery in just one game on a massive battlefield could be a problem. Plus, this would require unprecedented levels of coordination within the team.

    What do you think?

One of the developers (MM) Made a game somewhat like this before it's called Soldat. Check it out you might like it! And you have some pretty nice ideas! Although the maps would have to be huge! Otherwise tanks would be everywhere (Huge maps is a big thing in Battlefield).

I think Geti's games are more similar to KAG both in artstyle and play than eithero MM's games.

KAG feels very much like Prelude + RvR.

I don't really think the Si-Fi theme would suit KAG although I do like a lot of si-fi games.

Cortex command? The game itself apparently is unfinished and scrappy but apparently alot of people have done alot of modding with it, I really don't know much about it though but I think I heard that one of the KAG devs had had something to do with modding it. I've always liked the idea of a multiplayer 2D war game with cool pixilated graphics, kinda always wanted to see a metal slug kinda game but team based multiplayer, or online cannon fodder but with more units and weapons and base building, KAG is an awesome example of how great games like that would be but other then KAG, soldat and cortex command I can't think of any others. I'd really like to see a more top down kinda 2D mutliplayer game though, something like battlefield with the look of desert/jungle strike, but with base/equipment building and the gameplay of awesome top down ridiculous 80s shooter games.

...I'd rather the developers focused on KAG for at least the next couple of years to make it mega awesome though.
