Actual War mode should be called Conquest mode...

    The hall system is really good but i would like the previous system will not be forget. With Hall system matches are "quicker" while with old system (dorms for migrants) we had to build giant castle at start and focus on farming resources to build outspot on the map. Now it is all very quick and very less strategical.
    I hope we could have 2 mode: Conquest mode is the actual beta with hall system. War mode the previous version with dorms for migrants.
    What do you think?

    I loved the previous system to bad they scraped it :QQ: . All we need now though is a good modder

    The modder doesn't even have to be good. The files are all there. A server owner just has to implant them.

    yes, i loved the old mode without the halls better too, maybe it would be good to have 2 halls ( every team 1 ) that you can have some storages etc.. but not so much in middle, i think if there wouldnt be so much halls, the teams would play more strategic and for that you wont play like in the new system ( maybe a bit like.... LETS RUN IN THE ENEMY SWORDS AND DIE!!! ) because you will always respawn near the battlefield, if there would be only 2 halls you would think more because its a longer way to the battlefield, maybe the teams would do some teamwork like for example one blue knight with one builder and archer, they could kill everyone ( if they have a good knight ) because its ovious that enemys havent a chance against a strong knight, which is protected by an archer and the knight protects the builder too.... so i think it would make much more fun if you do teamwork like i already experienced like for example if you have 2 bombs, u take one and bombjump over the enemy walls, and if there is a mate without a bomb next to the wall you throw the 1 left bomb down to him so that he can come there too.... or what was very funny to when i played with my favourite guard paul the peasent we were together in front of the enemy main base, the only problem was that there was a pro knight enemy that already saw us, so then paul said ''lets slaughter him and capture this fucking base '' we killed him : D what i wouldnt have done without him , the only bad thing was that paul jumped in a saw trap ^^

    I don't know the "old" mode as I started playing during beta, but I think the game could do with a more strategic, long-lasting mode. By your description it sounds a bit like that. I've stopped playing for periods because I'm tired of building the same stuff over and over just to see it crash and burn a short while later.

    There's been a server lately running a custom mode called "role play" which seemed popular. I liked some parts of it too. In particular how there was more strategy involved, more than two teams and thus the possibility of alliances, trading and betrayal. It's sort of like a shared sandbox mode with the possibility to fight if you so choose. I'd like to see something like this from the devs.

    Also just a heads up: modding is out. If you want a "long lasting strategical gamemode" then go learn some angelscript (or just fiddle around with it) and make it.

    Not familiar with that term, sorry. Just stating my opinion. I hope that's acceptable.

    Edit: I'm sorry if you consider a few months old discussion as dead. I do not. This is still relevant. Also, stickies says to check for existing suggestions. If I had made a new discussion that would've been wrong too. Am I supposed to just shut up then, or what?

    I might if there was some info on how. I have looked at the scripts and stuff, and it's not very obvious how things work.

    Besides, I thought this was a suggestion forum. What's the point of that if the answer is "make it yourself"?

    It was meant in a way that the gamemodes, how they are now, are what the devs wanted them to be. If they wanted some slower paced game mode, they maybe would've done it. I didn't have the intention to squash your dreams or anything, I just gave you a serious answer to how it's looking (regarding gamemodes) at the current time.

    If you have questions regarding modding, feel free to join the IRC channel #kag.modding (Quakenet.org). Usualy there are people there who know this and that regarding modding.

    The language KAG's code is written in is AngelScript, which is pretty similar to C++ (I've been told). You can find lots about that simply by googling.
