Angry Chat-Dudes and What to Do with Them

Hey,

I'm pretty sure everyone here has played a game where there was this one guy, who did nothing but be angry in chat.


-random string of angry emoticons to signify an angry dude because I'm too lazy to get a quote or a screenshot

You know the type.

My question is this:

How do you deal with them? Do you ignore them, hope they go away? Do you get angry at them? Do you threaten the structural integrity of their lower digestive tract? Personally, I choose the last option. But, in all seriousness. How are we supposed to keep KAG from devolving into an interactive insult generator filled with angry twats?

Actually you're wrong with that claim. It's kinda like that situation with Alphelion. He had issues in his server and then some random ass player named DannyCarnage started harassing him on the forums. It's kinda difficult to ignore them then cause maybe he/she will rally up more haters.

So what Geti says is pretty logical in terms of abuse and all that stuff.

(If you dont know who he is, he's the guy who made the only roleplay servers with ponies in them.)

Ok in all seriousness, the ingore feature works well agaisnt trolls/simple fags IF they dont use forums/are new to the game.
Edit: Fyi - you can ignore people on forums aswell, just click there name and there is a word there saying "Ignore" viola. NO more "H8ers gona h8"

 

This is true. Very true. Hopefully another DonnyCarnage doesn't suddenly appear in the near future. D:
Why you ask? Cause he rallied multiple players who equally hated ponies and attacked Alphe quite heavily. Even hunted down a facebook account that isnt his what so ever.
Obviously this guy was 1 out of 100. But still, another version of him may spawn. D:

 

I already had to use the ignore feature on forums because I'm obviously VERY attractive, and was being harassed.

anyone who uses the word "haters" I can't take seriously, whether it's forum or game. donny was also a solo faggioli in his endeavors.

I think there is a big difference between harassment and general anger.

Both can be bad and cause problems, but harassment is directed towards one person or a group of people, while general anger can simply be getting pissed when something unfavorable to you happens.

Harassment can be a big issue. It can lead to major problems where, in most cases, nobody wins. Like Geti said, if it is a continuous phenomenon it can be reported and they can be flagged. But that is for continuous cases.

Maybe adding in a vote category for harassment (if there isn't already one, can't remember) would be a good idea.

 

It's been said above, if you don't like how someone talks, use the built-in ignore option. For very difficult cases you can always come to IRC and ask for help.

The world is a cruel cruel place. But hopefully you guys can somehow solve these issues... somehow. It's not very fun when someone is attacking you with harassing words, and you cant do anything since other's will suddenly join in, thus being unable to help you since they're jerks. D:
