Banned for no reason? - Your ping may have been too high!

I'll give it a shot!

Just for everyone who doesnt know, if you suddenly get kicked off of a server, it may not be because you were griefing, but because you have too high ping! Don't worry though! When you get kicked for too high ping, you are only banned for 10 minutes.

Also you should edit your post to read if you suddenly get kicked off a server (and weren't griefing/hacking!) and cant rejoin because you were banned, it was because of high ping/multiple ping spikes. Or something similar to that.

 

Story of my life, I get ping kicked alot.... stupid ISP... *grumble*

 

Fwiw on my two servers I raised the tolerance for it a bit. Also not using wireless internet will help.

Who thinks this should be sticky? Though I can't do that now considering it's not my area of the forum.

 

I think it couldnt hurt. But lots of forums, this one included risk sticky overload where people just start to ignore them.

If that's the case, then I don't see any reason for this thread to be open for replies anymore.
