KAG BETA: Many problems since last update

    The Beta is silent, but where else may I ask? I tried to talk to MM on game, but the problems prevented me from it. :oops:

    Since the update that came with dormitories for the first time, I almost cannot play.
    Joining a server with many people takes about 1.5 minute: 1 minute for 'Loading blobs', 20 secs for 'Loading roles' and waiting with the map on. Afterwards, I got disconnected immediately. :QQ:

    Secondly, I managed to get to an empty server, which was MM's US Testing Grounds, but even there, alone, the game was somehow lagged. Everybody complains on lags, but mine are extraordinary: each 8 seconds (0.125Hz frequency) my game 'hangs' for 1.5~2.5 seconds. When I in the air, I just get stuck in in the air (:huh?:) , any everybody (for I asked people how do it look like) says they do see me as a stuck man in the air, so it is not a normal lag.

    In fact, I usually can't join any servers now. :(

    In the previous versions, I had no problems.
    I reckon the Internet connection is not the problem too.

    Please, help me for I much desire to play again :QQ:

    Hey, can you start the game, hit home, type the following:
    Code:
    /g_rendergraph 1
/g_measureperformance 1
/g_physicsgraph 1
/g_scriptsgraph 1
/n_graph 1
    (this turns on a bunch of graphical debugging stuff)
    then enter the game and take a screen shot once the lag is happening.
    We should see a spike in whatever is causing the lag - script, physics, or render (if your net is bad that will show up too as green sections on the net graph).

    I tried joining MM's Testing Grounds again:
    After blobs and rules loaded, for 21 seconds I was waiting, and what was in the viewport was map with no entities nor items.
    It changed and in the chatbox it was written mroowa has joined the game.
    Entites loaded, effects loaded, items loaded. But didn't move. People standing in the same place, cloads of explosions in the same place and so on.
    About 20 seconds in that state, then disconnected automatically.
    Reattemping to an empty server.

    Each 8 seconds:
    /g_rendergrapgh goes high (sometimes higher then monitor, sometimes lower) left side of the /\ thingy is red, right one is green :)
    /g_measureperformance I do not see where it is?
    /g_physicsgraph all good'n'green
    /g_scriptsgraph: a green thingy goes very high and is caption void onTick(CSprite@).drawhelp(0.0000000/1.0000000), rarely about Blob, rarely about some music
    /n_grapgh BpsSent ~0.9KBps; BpsRec ~1.5Kbps (WHY THE HELL SO SLOW WHAT IS IT?)

    EDIT: left bottom corner:some blue grapgh, usually low, sometimes jump to 1700

    measure performance is needed for the script graph to actually work, you shouldn't be seeing what it is.
    The green thingy that goes very high for drawhelp, is that in time with the large spikes of lag you get?

    The net graph is so "slow" because the game doesn't use that much internet. If the net graph is all blue then theres no network troubles.

    I got the lag each 8 seconds. When it comes, for 2 seconds my screen is frozen. After it comes to otion again, that spike occurs, sometimes, followed by smaller Blob spike, but rarely :)

    ok, good to know. a screenshot could be useful to clarify my end if you can manage to get one (not necessarily during the lag, since there will be the spike still on the graph) maybe using a utility like tinygrab. I'll have a look into what might be causing it, cheers for the quick turnaround on troubleshooting.

    You might want to try the "faster graphics" option (see options menu) if you haven't already.

    Today I joined a server with 13/36 slots, game loaded, on net graph there occured 3 spikes (17k, 14k, 13k), and at the same time game jammed, nothing loaded. But I do believe I found the problem:

    Looks like it may either be a legit bug, or a broken file your end.
    Can you try "re-patching" the game?

    Delete the file KAG/App/version.txt
    Delete the folder KAG/Base/Entities
    Start KAG.exe (assuming you're on windows)
    Wait for it to patch

    See if the problem is fixed.

    If you still get that crash inside the tree files (and even if not) I'll be looking into where it could be crashing there.

    The 3 spikes on netgraph are scripts cache, blobs cache and game state. Scripts is like game code, blobs is like config files, game state is like map and where all the objects in-game are.
