So this game is still in Alpha right. So when do you think it'll reach it's Beta stage? They've already gotten more than $60 000 off this game. I think it'll reach Beta when they bring out Multiplayer Zombie Fortress.

Wow. $60,000 off a game that's not even a year old yet. That's a monthly salary of $5,000.00 after one year. How much is that after one million copies are sold? I can't even calculate that...my brain keeps saying overflow error.

As for a beta release. This game is still pretty unstable. It still crashes several times a day and servers go crazy all the time. Lots of bugs to squash still.

Look at the Main Site. It says how many people have bought the full game. 6,000 people. The game is also 10 dollars. You do the maths. :)

I don't mean a time frame. I mean at which release. Overworld? Zombies Multiplayer? Somewhere in between?

    Uh...
You know it isn't actually $60,000 right? First off, it hasn't always been $10, secondly, there are numerous other companies taking their cuts too (payment companies like PayPal and distributors like Desura).
Then there's all the costs - for example the costs of running various servers.

Plus there's two devs, not just one. All in all, they haven't made a particularly large amount yet.

Anyway if they're actually following the usual uses of the terms 'alpha' and 'beta', the game will be 'beta' when its feature complete (and hopefully without any known critical bugs). So that would put it a long way off.

And cos of that, to sound like a broken record from another thread, I hope the game stay's in alpha as long as possible, whatever alpha and beta are even supposed to mean for quickly evolving Indie game.

  6. I don't really get why some games (including this one) call themselves alphas or betas. I know beta can be open testing, although it's usually closed but alfa means a program is tested by inside people and nobody more.
    It's abusing.

I love this game and I hope when its more feature complete, it makes its way to Steam where it can get the audience and make the money it deserves,
