Right now some avatars seem to blur in these forums. It may have something to do with the 200x200 resolution that they're forced in. Any chance for this to get fixed? It's not nice especially for the guys with pixel avatars (smiluu? :))

Well, at least for me they do and I believe so they do for you - even your avatar has blur in it, you may just not have noticed.

Manually scale your avatar to 96x96 and upload it. Using png is also worth a shot.

XenForo is very wonky with avatars in general- transparency was never part of the plan, nor was preserving image quality. The forum default changes all uploaded images to .jpg and makes with some fairly absurd compression. The idea was to minimize file size and make avatars simple and convenient- thus the unified post/profile image, as well. It's generally pretty rigid in this aspect, so there's no fancy modifications to install like phpBB or vBulletin- or at least, not yet. Alas!

e: Oh, right, we were talking about compression blur. I am fairly sure our resident fora head-citricsquid??-- can fiddle with settings to make it less bad, but not entirely! We will have to see.
