Bubbles: Sonic Style

    If you ever played the good ol' classic Sonic the Hedgehog games, you may remember this happening to you all the time.

    If you haven't played Sonic before. Let me recap what happens in water levels.

    In the classic sonic games, sonic couldn't swim. He had to run along the bottom, only being able to jump. The only way for him to stay alive was by finding bubble deposits on his way. They would regenerate his breath meter so he could continue on.

    What I propose is adding a few of these bubble deposits in KAG. Ones that can't be destroyed, but can infact be blocked.

    Time after time I find myself stuck in water, drowning. As I look up I see builders with their smirk little ::):::D: on. As I slowly die I wish there was someway I could get out or survive long enough to break down the barrier keeping me trapped under. So this is where the idea comes into play. These bubbles allow any class, at any place in the map that they are, to regenerate their breath amount. The bubbles float up to the surface, allowing anyone in between to get their breath back. Again, they can be blocked with stone/wood so that no one can get them, but not destroyed.

    I think this would lead to better water combat between knights and less cheap water traps.

    Water traps are generally somewhat easy to spot, and if you do get stuck, you damage the trap so the next guy may be able to escape, so I have to say no to this idea.

    They are easy to spot, but hard to get over. It always is a larger stone tower and in front of that is a water trap. You can never get over it as knight and you can never get out. It takes me 5 lives to break the trap so I can breathe. Why not have a chance to survive with bubbles? They can block the bubble vein too, allow you to stay trapped and die, but if not blocked properly, can be destroyed by a knight.

    And it again wouldn't just help with trap destruction, think of how many times you are being attacked and you have to go under water to dodge. I always drown. Its a pain.

    Maybe you should be better at breaking traps. Unless it's literally three upside down bridges thick with trap blocks over top of that, it only takes 6 slashes to break enough tiles to escape. Also I find that trap blocks are ALWAYS to my teams advantage. I can pass through them as if they aren't there, but they're stone blocks to enemy knights... impassable. Perfect spot to charge a slash and leap upwards through them.

    Have you ever been stuck under a trap bridge in water where it follows the pattern, Trap block - Bridge? Allows your teammates to walk over, but not your enemies, while also being hard for them to break.

    Also.

    This is not just for breaking annoying OP traps. Again, it is for better underwater combat aswell.

    Yeah... trap block+bridge is fairly standard. It's a trap. It's not supposed to be annoying, it's supposed to be deadly.

    If we're talking about maps with huge bodies of water and deep pits, then yes I agree that bubbles could be good. But in every place where there's some water? No way, that's ridiculous lol. (Though the fact that it can be blocked off helps alleviate the annoyance factor.)

    Also, even if it doesn't play that big of a role in the actual gameplay, it would look pretty cool ;)

    If it randomly occured throughout water with no designated spot, I'd like this idea a lot. Then it's like "HELP I'M DROWNING" but then air bubble and "THANK YOU GOD"

    Well it wouldn't be "random" par-say. When the bubbles come out of the vein they kind of float from left to right freely.

    I'm saying it'd be a pretty bad addition unless the bubbles randomly popped up in random spots in random bodies of water at random times. Then if you're drowning and a bubble appears, it's the luck of the rng gods in your favor.

    [​IMG] I'd suggest implementing the music while drowning instead. To notice faster if you are actualy drowning
