Ok, game starts. I go to the front to build the main defensive wall, because all the better builders always seem to be off skybridging or making over-sized spike traps. I build a three-thick wall about ten blocks high on top of a pre-existing chunk of bedrock stuff, which adds another five blocks of height and an impenetrable base. Yes, I left off the stairs, because there is generally no need to retreat, and leaving them off greatly improved the integrity of the tower. I whack a little dome on the top to shield out long-shots, put in a murder-hole, give it some support from behind, and give myself a pat on the pack for my lovely little defensive structure. :)

However, then comes along another guy, who shall remain nameless. He notices that there's still another ten or so blocks to the border. So, he promptly builds an innocent, spindly little wall right up close to the border, builds a walkway out of stone back to my tower, and puts a ladder up the inside.
Now, this may not seem to be such a bad thing, but I swear it lost us the battle. Oooh boy did we lose. Guess where the battlefront was? Riiight between the two towers. I now present a little mockup of the situation.

Pretend the piece of gold is a bit of bedrock.
That little bit of bedrock did enough damage as it was, as it meant that I couldn't duck in and out of the door, and made it impossible to go through the door with shield raised. That was bad enough, an prevented me from stopping them breaking down the door. They did, and then scaled the ladder and owned us. Good day, peoples, and I hope I don't have to endure this again. :(

The other day there was a skybridge of enormous height with a flag spawning the entire team on it. Within a minute our team had lost 20lives by people trying to jump/cata off it (without a single success); so in order to save our team from further derp I destroyed the skybridge. Do not be afraid of destroying 'ally' structures that are obviously harmful.

...Wouldn't it have been better to throw the outpost off of the skybridge?

Yeah, I've been forced to look like an absolute dick by pulling down peoples structures and filling in spike-pits. Don't take it too personally if I ever do it to you, but chances are I have a good reason. all the structures that are being built need to work together, instead of just being separate projects.
