Not sure if this should go in two threads or not - tell me if I screw up!

I miss the good ol' days back when people actually drove siege engines around. This probably won't really change that, but at least I can keep smushin' noobs if I want to.

Basically we should be able to buy another set of wheels to apply to a ballista or catapult, if you want to move it or something (or someone else took off the wheels when they shouldn't have)

It would also allow for "strategic repositioning"driving off tower lol of enemy ballistae so you would have to choose between using it as a spawn point and taking it out of play (or both, if you can).

How many inventory spaces do you guys think these should take up? Or should they be too big to fit in inventory? We can also balance it by making them kind of expensive.

Downsides would be noobs could use them to drive their teams' vehicles off cliffs, but after doing that once nobody would do it again after the verbal smackdown.

Another concern I have is that people will just strip the wheels off the moment they go on - maybe try to make it so you have to sit in the driver's seat to take off the wheels?

Good suggestion, even though I haven't experienced with beginners stripping the wheels right when they get on, I strongly agree.
I'm thinking 4 inventory spaces. And a cost of 35 coins at the merchants shop, 100 wood and 40 stone at the builder workshop.
    Thoughts?

Sounds good - having it be 4 inventory spaces will make it so that you have to pick between bombs and the wheels. Or you could just carry the wheels - they might have to slow you like a boulder

However, then you couldn't buy multiple wheels and be able to rewheel a ton of the vehicles like a vehicle battle medic

    How about this.

Catapults go back to their old classic version where you could pick them up and move them.

Then for ballistas, make them just become stationary automatically where ever you set them up.

driving is funner and more useful than picking them up because you can run people over.

The only time I see people drive catapults and ballistas though is when it's TTH and we have alot of factories for them.

When trying to destroy an enemy catapult and it faces your base with no wheels and someone decides to make it yours so you can't break it..... This would really help. Spent a good ten mins at least digging underneath the cata so no one could use it...

Would love to be able to buy wheels, and drive again, otherwise being able to drive just well, isn't used much anymore.

toffie, you can target siege weapons as a builder to chop and destroy them like a building. That said, I think this is a cool idea, and I'd love to be able to bomb jump up a tower with some wheels, 'repair' the immobile enemy cata, and take it for a joy ride. :D

Great and practical idea, but the maps we have now aren't very flat, making driving a hassle.

They should be packed in a crate. You'd have to bring it to cata/ballista to apply them, also, ballista wheels should be more expensive since there are 6 of them, while there are 4 in cata.

True but they take forever and in war you just don't have that time

Takes less time than "a good ten mins at least" :P
