Detaching siege weapons from boats

While playing beta today, I've noticed a little unfair perk about detaching siege weapons from boats. Every time our team would deploy catas/ballistas on war boats, the enemy team would just rush in underneath us and detach the siege weapon from the boat. I think this is a little too unbalanced and it should at least be made so that the enemy can't detatch siege weapons from boats they haven't captured.
