Dwarf Fortress aka ASCII like you've never seen it before

Dwarf fortress. A great game for those who can apreciate it, whit its humble ASCII graphics and learning curve thats nearly straight up. Randomly generated worlds where every peasant has his history, and mountains and rivers are realistically eroded, even rain shadows are included!
Play as the overseer of a fort and die a few times (or quite some more then a few), or play as adventurer and get shot in the face by archers! Inuitive half-turn-based combat, you can chop of limbs and beat your enemies to death with the things!
Great intro, no?
Well, the best thing is yet to come.
The community.
The community is filled whit in-jokes, but always ready to lend you a pig tail fiber sock or do some serious science.
