Title says it all, even though I know I'm not supposed to make lists there just was no single topic with what I searched.
Basically created this so I can share my fighting games and get some from you guys.
I just love (most) fighting games, games with skill based mechanics etc.
I will share a few and wait to see which ones you know.

I remember playing age of chivalry... it was a fun mod/game though I caused more damage to my own team than the enemy by wailing horizontal attacks in huge melees like a complete fool...

Its actually sad that there aren't many fighting games for the pc but my favourite fighting game would probably have to be tekken for consoles and m.u.g.e.n games such as naruto for the pc

Ultimate ninja storm and some of the other anime style fighting games weren't bad.
The only thing that sucked in those made by Namco Bandai usually end up having put the story too short.
    Also
Sure, but what country are you from?
Hero Fighters MP is laggy as hell when trying to play global :x .

    Toribash! :D
Because literally beating your enemy to pieces with their own head is fun! ^___^

Not at all, it's simply all about balance! ^_^
That said, coming up against someone who knows their shit can result in a repeatedly ruptured torso, but for everyone else you just have to keep your balance.

I spent quite some time on Toribash.... only to fall flat failing to replicate one random move I managed to pull of long ago, took quite some pride in it. (hint it involved skullf*cking the opponent.)

    Apparently, in Toribash.
Grabbing peoples backs and throwing them to the ground works...
(None of you got a new good game?) :C

  12. I found an interesting fighting game once, indie too. If you're a long time fighting game fan like myself, this should interest you. Its called Duel Toys 2 but the name is pretty much only the reason to incorporate a story into it.
In short, Duel Toys 2 incorporates about 60 characters from a lot of different fighting games. Ever wanted to play as Ryu (Street Fighter) and fight Goku (DBZ)? Ever wanted to see if Indiana Jones could go toe to toe with the likes of Batman? Well this game makes it all possible. Better yet, the majority of the characters fighting systems are very similar to their original one's. So, if you can rip it up Street Fighter 2 with Ken, then you could probably play decent in Duel Toys 2 with Ken. Here's a video:

I didn't like fighting games alot until now.
Most of the Fighting games/RPG's with good fighting mechanics I played were published by Namco Bandai.
Like Dark Souls(RPG) which had some hard but satisfying gameplay, and unlike Skyrims combat (fun but you get OP fast) you couldn't approach an army and beat em up in mere seconds.

Ok I wasn't going to do this but 90% of the games mentioned here aren't fighting games, just games with fighting.

Fighting Games = Soul Calibur, Tekken, Street Fighter, that thing Beaster linked etc.
Sort of Fighting Games = Fight Night, Dragonball/Naruto Games, Smash Bros

Stuff like RCR, Scott Pilgrim, Hero Fighter, etc. are beat 'em ups. Like goodyman said Dark Souls is an RPG.

I mean discuss what you like but if you go to Gamespot or something and try to search up "fighting games" most of what's discussed here won't show up.

Yeah yeah I'm being pretty anal I'm just disappointed that no gaming communities I go (besides fighting game ones) actually play fighting games.

  17. Hey hey, fella.
I actually used to play Tekken 5 casually*. It was couple years ago but when I touched it few weeks ago on PSP, it turned out I still remember something.
Where I'm going is the fact that I'd like to come back into Tekken but I have like literally nobody to play with. Shame.

Oh BTW, I really liked the changes they've done in Tekken 6. I played a little both 5 and 6 against bots on PSP and it turned out that 6 requires much more skill. I'm glad it's not CIRCLE, CIRCLE, CIRCLE, CIRCLE, CIRCLE; juggled to death like 5.

Also, I've played Scott's demo on my PS3. Awesome game, the only imperfection in this game is difficulty level. I never managed to beat the demo since, again, I was forced to play alone.

*by casually I mean I never tried learning longer combos and connecting them in longer chains but I've finished story mode with every character and got insane level in Arcade with King

I'm not that much of a Tekken guy myself but I play it with my dad a bit as he likes it. Played Marduk mostly; learned a few pokes and the main launchers. Totally up for some if you get it on PS3.

What I'd really like is if someone was into Soul Calibur. Haven't got the new one yet but I played the shit out of 4. Gotreally deep into the game, learned a lot of frame data etc. Also played a fair amount of Street Fighter with my friends; couldn't combo for shit as I didn't practice the game at home or anything (and Street Fighter has fairly difficult execution) but I think I got a good feel for the game.

For anyone who hasn't before I really recommend getting a fighting game when it comes out and just diving into it deep. Learning combos is not being super pro at fighting games, that's just learning the controls. It's fairly hard to get into the mindset of your first fighting game but once you have every other fighting games will come much easier and I daresay you will become just a little bit better at every other genre of game. Asides from that it's really damn fun; you know that feel in KAG when you're playing someone really good and it's a real struggle? Fighting games are that x1000 because there's more to it than hopping around and jabbing.

I thought Hero Fighter would also be in a 50/50 since things can go pretty interesting if you do 1v1 fights against someone who is good in the game.
But yeah, Maybe I should have just stated "games with fighting" or "games with enjoyable fights".
I mostly posted games which I thought would enjoyable for people that like fighting/beat em ups and be a change from the damn shooters we see now and/or add some diversity and popularity to such games.
From my own experience I say that learning controls over a game like a fighting or beat em up and fighting against good people beats shooting the same gun in a different game.

Me and my brother player soul calibur 2 on the gamecube so much that whenever we played against each other it became a never ending ballet of guard impacts... My main was and always will be Mitsurugi (though i liked Necrid too.)... my brother varied himself and was more adept with several more characters than I, which led him to victory most of the time.

Have to say that I also adore the Samurai showdown games.... And Guilty gear (Played Chip Zanuff) and Blazblue (Bang Shishigami all the way!) series ..... there is something about flashy sprite based graphics that rubs me just the right way.

Reminds me of Card Sagas Wars...
