What it says on the tin. You need them. Noone ever wants to join an empty server = hundreds of players not playing simply because the servers are all empty. They're all there waiting for their own region to fill up! Please work on bots soon because you will then get an exponential increase in the amount of people actually playing the game at one time!

If no bots, make it rewarding to join the game early/put in minigames or something. Make it so that people WANT to join an empty server, then more people will follow and your servers will rarely be empty as they mostly are now!

    Yes, we should have bots.

I wonder how you would make a builder bot?

We're shy of adding bots to the game as it stands because it'll lead to spoofed server player counts and issues with bots making stupid decisions.
I'm currently testing knight combat with bots though so they'll probably be an option at some point.

I've thought about taking it completely the other way and having buildings that you can hire bots at to do various tasks for you, as that'd skirt the possibility of making an all-in-one AI, but that's a conversation for when my thoughts on the matter have been ironed out a little more.

In short, this'll likely happen. It's not a priority.

Isn't that the definition of (indie) game community nowadays?

    Pretty much.

Suggestions are welcome regardless, and indie devs are more likely to implement the good ideas than AAA companies, but do understand that we're two guys who think about making games a lot anyway.

    Honesty inbound:
Bug reports are kind of more useful than feature suggestions unless they're smaller functional insights - things like Vania's TAB-menu kicking and Neat's "Bulls not Bisons D:" or the fact that a stun on jabs SUCKS MAJOR ASS. Having people tell us what the issues are is handy as it's something we can address without changing our plans too much. Having 30 requests for fire arrows cannons rifles thief class bots devices magic more weapons and the kitchen sink is nice because it excites the imagination but bad because it eats time running through why it won't happen or saying what parts we might use, or whatever.
Don't take this as me saying "keep your ideas to yourselves" but more "please don't be let down if we don't jump to your suggestion or if it gets turned down, and more importantly don't tell us what we can and can't do".

We might all know that they're not commands, but by god some of them are worded as such.

But not all know there's a suggestion forum apparently

And this is not a suggestion, it's a rant by a poor kitty who didn't find a game.

I wouldn't call Neat a poor kitty nor do I think this is knee jerk - it's just quite a hefty suggestion. We've got things in the works either way but I'm not sure whether they'll find their way into online KAG or not.

Alright, i'll go ahead and say that i'm sorry that I worded it the way I did. It came off as arrogant and more like a command. It only comes like this because I want to see this game grow, and for players to be playing in lots of servers, not only is it then easier to find a server that doesn't lag a lot, it just feels good knowing that there are so many people enjoying this game.

@Biffleur This is in the discussion forum precisely because it isn't a suggestion. I'm well aware that forum exists and have posted threads there before, and today even. I'm not sure what you mean when you say I "didn't find the game" when you know nothing about me (I am a regular player and join the busiest server like everyone else and play). I can go on for hours about why this game sucks, but I can probably go on for just as long if not more about how it is awesome. Yeah, maybe I should do that more, but it's the way I am. I enjoy ranting a lot and get excited when i'm thinking about something during the game and quickly type it up here before I get it, perhaps losing some diplomacy in my haste. This isn't the first time people think i'm actually angry when I say these things.
@Geti, I don't expect devs go out of their way specially for a single person who happens to play the game, of course not. Again, this thread is in the discussion forum for a reason. If anyone wants to blast what i'm saying, go ahead. But if I wanted to tell people what they should and shouldn't do, I would at the very least use the suggestion forum?

TLDR: I love this game, hence the reason why I feel like more people should be playing it, and trying to think why many people aren't, comparing it to other exclusive multiplayer games, most have bots.

Seems like captain obvious has hit the forums

@Neat It was "find a game (to join)" but whatever, you're aware your post can cause some misunderstanding so topic closed, we all want the game to improve anyway, it's just that I didn't like the tone of some posts around here

I see no reason for the topic to close at all. People can still discuss about bots. And I should have wrote "find a game to join that's without lag cause the only busy servers now are halfway across the world". Sorry I didn't write that.

Aren't there knight bots in the new test build? In the swordsmanship tutorial, as I recall. Seemed intelligent enough, too, though not intelligent enough to know when I'm going to collapse something on their heads. XD

I quite like the idea of those bots being implemented... Just as some little addon... I also want 4 of them guarding the tent
