Has anyone ever done this before? You basically go hiking through woods, exploring caverns and ravines, crossing rivers, etc. It's like modern day treasure hunting, except that the treasures are never anything good. It's more about the experience and the journey than finding the cache.

You get GPS coordinates to where your destination is, and you have to find ways to get to it. Whether it's hiking up hills in the woods, climbing the side of a cliff, wading through a creek, etc. Then you sign a little logbook and post that you found it on the website.

It's actually quite interesting. Being a city boy, I've never seen big, natural, untouched wilderness like waterfalls, caves, huge trees and stuff like that. It's fascinating to find a small trail in a forest and just walking, seeing everything around you.

So, anyone have any Geocache experiences?

It's a ton of fun. Two of my good friends and I did this all day yesterday, hiked for 4 and a half hours and found 3 caches in a state park. Then ended the night with drinks at the bar. LOTS of fun!

Always wanted to try this but I don't have a phone capable of it.
