Grand Theft Auto V

Pre-ordered, slightly upgraded computer to reach minimum requirements (<.<) and it still didn't run smooth, not even on minimum, not even on 800x600. Apparently, setting the game's resolution to your desktop's resolution improves performance, but it still doesn't run. Specs:

i5 650 3.20GHz (dual-core, 4 threads, similiar to the minimum requirement processor, except it isnt a
quad-core)
9800GT 1GB 256 bits (minimum requirement)
4GB RAM

Getting some bad stutter when walking around the city, however in less dense areas my framerate goes up.
Everything on minimum, playing with resolution 1152x864

 

Not going to lie, minimum requirements are usually useless when trying to determine if your computer will run a game. I guess when they say minimum requirements they mean the requirements needed to even run that game at all. In summary:

• processor is outdated and somewhat slow
• graphics card is also the same issue
• 4 GB RAM may or may not be sufficient for such a large world map while also running Windows and possibly other things

I don't know what to say, other than look around for some optimized configuration files that may do even more tweaks to the game for it to run smoother. Maybe save up some more money in the future before upgrading? Good luck.

 

I got it for shitbox360 from a friend awhile ago (so can't complain). But it looks like utter crap technically compared to the PC, so jealous ;~;

 

In fact, i found some people at some gta forum, they were testing the minimum specs people could use to play, and their framerate, lots of them had 4GB ram, and even some less powerful gear, results were very varied. It might be just my processor, since it's a dual-core (physical cores).

 

Haven't tested this personally because, well, I don't have GTA V.
