Griefing Held Items

So, I came upon something that irked me tremendously.

I knew before that your team could slash your boulder away, but I didn't think it could be done with any other held items. A couple days ago, I was rushing with a boulder, had a mine, and was about to drop it at their tunnel, when the builder was breaking doors . . and my mine. With builders being able to one-shot the mines, now, it has been brought to my attention that this might be happening with all or at least most items that are held, including kegs, and that worries me.

So, as I have not any time to test it right now, I am only assuming that it is true on all/most items, and I think that people can unintentionally grief their teams of their items, without even trying, and seriously hinder their team.

 

Just make it so you cant pick up or damage items that you didn't buy until the person who bought it, drops it.

I have had more than one occasion where a builder jumps onto an ally/me with a boulder and it kills the ally/me.

The thing that happens afterwards is my personal favorite use of 120 coins; (lit) kegs exploding via use of boulders.

 

I can confirm that a boulder will insta-detonate a lit keg of the other team, not sure about the same team.

 

I am meaning with breaking it with a sword of some sort, not that.
After all, boulders are broken as it is, and can also teamkill, so that seems kinda balanced (not saying good).

Yes please! I would love to use boulders in groups and not worry-ing about it breaking. also the boulder onto enemy keg thing is the best feature ever invented ~ makes people go huh

No, this is meaning that you can't break your team's held items. Might need to clarify.
You can still destroy mines, boulders, etc etc, with as much force and time as you did before, but this time, you can't break it if it's in a teammates hands, as that might be annoying as it would waste 60 coins in a mistake that took place in less than a second, kinda the same with boulders.

 

I can add that having a builder mine your mine is a horrible feeling.

 

I absolutely agree. Never in the history of KAG has someone been able to break my held mine, and even when it's on the ground, only an allied builder deliberately aiming right at it could break it, until this build. I also think boulders shouldn't be breakable by allies, nor should kegs or anything else you're holding. It's just stupid, it's literally just a bunch of accidental griefing, and once you realize it's happened, it makes the player feel less secure around their teammates, leading to less teamwork rushes. And really, with the direction the builds are going, I don't think Geti/MM want that.

 

@Klokinator is right, when I'm trolling with boulders I tend to stay away from my team because I fear they will break it in my hand by accident.
