Hacker-Forever - A text-based Hacking MMO Sim.

Let me start off with a warm hello and thank you for taking a moment to read this.

Hacker-Forever is a text-based online multiplayer hacking adventure where you can choose between the worlds of a safe White Hat, a neutral Grey Hat, or the notorious Black Hat. The game has an abundance of tools and utilities at the players expense. Hacker-Forever has it's own clan system, virtual hardware and software, virtual banks, and an internet where servers can be purchased. Everything is hack-able, and the only thing stopping you from taking it all is you! This game has been created and maintained by admin Chaozz since 2008 and has seen many updates over the years.

Clan Systems: Clans in Hacker-Forever have a unique hierarchy with a Leader, Council Members, and members. The leader calls the shots and guides what direction the clan is headed in, whether that is a passive slope to save some money, or a destructive direction taking everything in sight. Council Members assist the leader with access to the Clan Bank and managing members in the clan. The Clan Bank is to store money from players as a bit of a "Safe" since players can be hacked for their money. Clans can have their Clan Bank stolen, but only from a DDoS from a group of members in a rival clan. Members can buy their own servers on the internet and put "server software" on those servers that generate revenue every hour depending on how well the economy is doing for that specific piece of software.

Hardware and Software: Hardware and Software have an important role in Hacker-Forever that are useful for defending against attacks as well as going on the offensive. New hardware unlocks as your level increases, and you can choose from CPUs, RAM, size-able HDDs, and Mainboards (motherboards) that help increase your chances of hacking as well as defending against attacks. The software shop has an extensive menu of tools and hacking tools available to the player, with more tools unlocking as level increases. A few of the tools that are useful to the player are System Logs and "Server Sniffers", System Logs allowing you to track if you have been hacked as well as the IPs of the players who attempted to hack you but have failed. Server Sniffers allow you to view the internet to purchase/view server blocks on the internet, as well as get the IPs of servers that currently exist. (they can be hacked too!) 3 Firewalls at increasing levels help deter attacks against your system so you can be on the offensive longer and bring destruction against your enemies. A few of the Hacking Tools available are Connection Destroyers (they kick your opponent offline for varying amounts of time so you can target other players without having too many people hitting you at once), Money Steal Trojans which steal the other players money, Remote HDD Destroyers (commonly known as RHDs which destroy the HDDs of your enemies taking all their software with it), Brute Force Password Crackers (BFPCs which allow you to hack servers throughout the game so you can take them for yourself or give them to your friends) and many more!

Perks: There are quite a few perks available all with no level requirements which give you lower download times and increased chances of hacking. I won't go into too much detail about these but they are pretty useful for sticky situations.

Jail, FBI, and Prison: If you are caught by the police breaking into another system, you have a chance of being jailed for determining periods of time with a sized bail amount that increases with your level. Don't worry though, as players can Bail you out with their money or attempt to Bust you out while having a chance of failing and being jailed too. The FBI can be hacked so you can add other players to the Most Wanted List, remove players from the MWL, or view the logs so you can find out who added your friend or who is attacking you! Players get sent to prison when they are on the MWL for a period of time, meaning 12 hours of downtime leaving their servers and clan (if they are the leader of one) wide open to everyone for attacking!

Clan Wars: Clan Wars are a bit of a remarkable spectacle, watching two groups of people clash and hit each other like a slapping contest but without the actual damage. When a clan declares war against another clan, each clan starts out with 500 points, and every hack against them takes away points. Every PC hack = 5 points, Server hack = 10 points, and every Gateway DDoS is 50 points. As soon as a clan reaches 0 points, they lose the war.

BattleSys: BattleSys is the games algorithm determining your succession chance of a hack or not. BattleSys takes into account your level, hardware, software used, and pits this information against the opposing opponents hardware + firewall to give you a chance of landing the hack or not. If your chance of hacking goes below 20%, it is set to 20%, so no matter what you have a 20% chance of hacking your target.

Contracts: Contracts are NPC missions that gain you a bit of money for doing whatever task is required. After requesting a contract, an anonymous mailer will send a message to your inbox with details of what you need to do and who you need to hack/what server you need to hack. The rewards for the different contracts vary depending on what you need to do. After requesting a contract, you will have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the contract so you have ample time to land the hack and execute. An example of a message with a reward:

An anonymous contact wants you to steal the software that is currently running on a server that is owned by a rival company. The IP address of the target server is (IP has been taken out). You need to steal it's software before the end of the contract. The offer will expire at Today 19:53:16. They will contact you after it expires to evaluate the results. They are prepared to pay you $200,145 if you succeed.

Small Hacks: There are small jobs you can do that have a timer of a few seconds to 2 minutes depending on the small hack. Every job you do has a chance of winning or failing, and winning gives you a small amount of cash that is helpful at lower levels.

Game and Support Chat: The Game and Support Chat is where most players come to chat and hang out while they are waiting to start their next hack. A lot of players prefer having a separate tab of the chat so they can be a part of the discussions or just chat with friends.

No I'm not a bot, I'm just browsing through MMO Forums finding places with "Other Games" sections to I can get word out about this game. It needs a new player-base and I'm determined to find that player base. Sorry about anything!

 

I don't think it's a problem, as long as you're not a bot I'm pretty sure it's OK. I'd be cool if you checked out one of THD's games though, you can play the Classic version of King Arthur's Gold (be sure to click Classic Download, you can login with your forum account ingame) for free and play the prototype of butcher for free. I'll take a look at your game later

 

I'll be sure to check these out ASAP. League of Legends and CSGO have been letting me down lately..
