How to host a server? My issues-

Hey guys, not trying to host a public server here or anything Sorry :( But i would like to play the game a bit slowly for now so i want to run the client twice and connect to myself via IP.

Now when i start the server.bat stuff then open up the game (Just one game client at this time) It will not let me create a server map. If there is no server.bat running i can create maps just fine

Any ideas?

 

If you want to play single player, just go to map editor on the main menu, then select generate map and OK.

 

Thats the problem Jason is that single play creates the silly little warm up zone :( Also there are no bots and i want to test how the game works more thoroughly

 

Then you do have a problem. I've seen a command for bots, but I don't believe they're fully implemented in-game. Also the 2 player minimum is editable in the same .cfg as the bots, which every time I touch, it shuts down my server.

Also, if you want to connect to your own server, just click join game then connect. LAN IP is auto entered

My server is almost empty atm thanks to a crash. If you wanted to explore go right ahead.

 

Hehe thanks Jason - i was more or less trying to figure out how to host my own server. I did see a thing about bots and i saw MM mentioned that is a leftover file from some other game he was working on. Though you mention that cfg file on minimum players - i will look at that now/

 

Can you tell me which cfg file it is?

 

\Base\Rules\CTF\gamemode.cfg

minimum_players_inteam = x (0 in your case)
