Ideal Tower Height?

    I've noticed a trend toward ridiculously tall, door-ladder towers lately. The only way to pass them is to climb all the way over, which is very time-consuming. Besides being annoying, they reduce time spent on the front lines, and we all know that the best defense is a good offense (or something pithy like that).

    What do you consider the ideal tower/door height (to balance mobility and defense)?

    under 15 (around 8 - 12) should be the door and the tower should always be high enough to prevent those dirty bomb jumpers from screwing things up. I always make it around 18 to 20. For an archers nest up top.

    Additionally, you can make the tower as high as you want, just be sure you make some team bridges at the desired height so when you walk out the tower you don't get stunned. (I sometimes take noobishly tall towers and just put these "bridge stairs" under them).

    EXAMPLE:

    if you walk directly off without jumping, you get to the bottom without taking damage. (going to the right of course).

    I'm not really concerned with fall damage so much as climb time. It takes soooo long to climb massive towers. It's fine on a big server where they all end up connecting and you can run across the top, but when I end up climbing two or three of these bastards every time I head for the front, it makes me want to beat a small child with a bag full of kittens.

    I could go into a huge discussion about heights of towers, but no one would read my wall text. So. I will say this:

    6-8 height for forward towers. (door level) and a decent 10-20 more on top of that as you have stone, placing a corrner spike every now and then along the outside of the wall has an effect like an air blade.

    Middle towers (between forward and tent base) should have their doors at 10-14 height. Then another 10-20 stone on top of that.

    Tent base, this should be basically a bunker, (door inclosed base, with shops, very secure), or so ridiculously high, (somewhere around 40-50 should do), nothing will ever get over it. door height should be 6-8 with a simple trap in front to stop knights from getting in by themselves.
