What is a good way to get started? Ive read xna and C# is a good way to start.

Im interested in making a multiplayer sci-fi 2d top down team based objective game......I have so many ideas in this head and i want them to become a reality.

2D top downs are kind of internet games really, but so long as I'm a playable character I'd be happy.

On a serious note, there's like programmes and shiz that help you make games, don't know any names but I'm sure someone does :D

Imagine this with better ship graphics 32on32 multiplayer where each player controls his/her own customizable ship, ships would be directly flown and have weapons that you could aim, realistic lighting effects for explosions. A support style class that would allow players to build bases , auto-turrets , solar panels , walls etc....For ship customization, warzone 2100 gets all of my attention

as you can see into like halfway of the video (nvm look at 1:22) , Units consist of Body , Propulsion, Weapon/Tool. Ranging from small bodies that have relatively little or no hitpoints but are agile and fast , to super heavy bodies that are bullet sponges. This was always my favorite feature of any game ever made and i want to include something similar in mine......even though i lack the programming skills, I can learn anything i put my mind to.
