Haha, I bet you thought from the title that this was a spambot thread. Nope. Chuck Testa.

Anyway, I recently decided to restart this programming course that I was doing. I was half way through it when I started a 6 month programming course. Despite learning to code in several different languages at school, we did little practice in proper methodologies. What we learned in for almost each language was to either directly enter and modify data in a database or make forms that did the same thing. It was ok for a 2 year programming course condensed into 6 months, but we never learned to code properly.

So this course that I'm doing, is a free course that is one of 3 programming courses offered by Stanford University for free. In the course you not only learn how to program, some history behind programming and how programming syntax works, but also you learn proper coding methods right off the bat, pretty much starting with your first program. The language you learn in is Java. It also happens to be part of their Software Engineering major, so you know that it's one of the best courses you could take.

    Here is the website: see.stanford.edu
The course name is: CS106A Programming Methodologies

I thought it might be cool to post this here. A few years ago I was lost in trying to find a decent online programming course that I could do on my own time. There are dedicated programmers who sometimes post lengthy tutorials, however, most have no experience in instruction, so it's easy to get confused and lost in the tutorials.

    Enjoy.
