International Political Theories

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous' started by BeasterDenBeast, Feb 17, 2012.

  1. After a long-winded yet fulfilling conversation with Frogdo (and later MrJinkies) regarding politics, a series of theories were discussed that were slightly more interesting than the average standard of political talks. We discussed a wide range of somewhat well-known political theories and how they would/could.do relate to the world we live in today. After a conversation regarding such organisations as the illuminati and anonymous, we decided it would be fairly amusing to take it to the forums and discuss with a wider range of participants.

I think I'll start us off with something a little more mundane. In a few decades China will replace the US as the dominant super power of the world, there are several factors supporting this. The first is China's far stronger economy, it greatly outstrips that of the rest of the world to the point of making most first world nations dependent on China for their cheap goods.

The only matter in which the US is superior to China in is their political clout. This stems from the American domination in global politics following the end of WW2 and later the fall of the USSR, leaving the US as the only super power. China will inevitably gain equal or greater political power than America, dominating the UN and having a significant affect on the politics of surrounding nations, possibly even affecting Australia.

Although this is probably going to have a negative impact on those living within America, Australia and possibly Europe there is hope. With the rise of China's middle class, brought on by the availability of cheap goods and the gradual increase in education, the Chinese population will become better educated and could possibly adopt more democratic view points. This will most likely not result in a full blown revolution, but rather a gradual change in Chinese politics. This is of course a more optimistic view point, it is most likely that China will stick with the somewhat dictatorial government they have now.

Feel free to question this theory, prove me wrong or back me up.
