    Hey,
Since a few of you guys are using IRC QuakeNet to communicate, I thought about sharing that with you:

I am running a IRC Bouncer sofware on my server and I recently got a QuakeNet Trust, which means that I'm allowed to run more than 5 connections from my IP. If you don't have a QuakeNet trust, all users will be "G-Lined" otherwise.

If you are wondering how some people are connected to IRC 24/7/365, it's most likely not because they are running their computers that long. They are connected to a BNC which will always be connected to the Network, even if you disconnect from your client. This allows you to receive messages while you are actually offline.
You can setup an awayname, so whenever you disconnect from your client, your name will be changed to e,g : Nick-offline
    • Your BNC also logs all IRC events if you are offline (private messages, channel logs , ... )
    • It also prevents other users to steal your nick
    • you can setup an autoreply message which will be sent to users when your BNC is active. (e.g 'Sorry, I'm currently offline. Your message has been logged'.)
    • Webpanel to setup your BNC
    • and a LOT more

I am currently hosting a few BNC's for a bunch of people and there are still slots available which are free to use.
Most free BNC providers include nasty & colored advertises in the users realname, which won't happen here.
You cann fully modify your Bouncer.

    or
reply in here or send me a private message

I don't make any profit of it, just want to share what I got!
PS: You should be able to use it for other networks than QuakeNet as well.
