Larger caves

    It would be interesting to battle out in large caves as well. Maybe they could even be hidden until discovered.

    I wouldn't mind seeing some generated caverns or branching caves and are you talking about limited visibility or unrevealed map?

    I'm not really interested in fighting in caves; I can imagine those becoming little attrition-based deathpits, but I think it would be great to have stuff to spruce up mining. Maybe some gems or even some purely aesthetic fossils, just for flavour.

    But there are already caves that were dug by workers.
    First of all these are usually small tunnels- but when fights begin in them, they grow a lot)
    So what is the point of implementing something that almost already exists?

    Yeah, I'd like this as well. We're thinking about a funds system driven by precious material collection and allocated by work contribution (so kinda socialist I guess :P) and this would fit in nicely.

    As for cave generation - I'm not even really happy with the map generation in general so we'll see what happens, I'd much prefer a node-driven system but I've got to think about how that might work first :P

    Are you guys making Stronghold side-scroller? :P

    I would like to see some larger caves (but not drastically bigger). Only like occasionally getting a vein roughly 1-3 blocks wider so you can walk through it, only for a certain distance :P

    In regards to caves and terrain generation, I think it would be an enormous improvement to see concave formations above ground - rather than all mountains meeting at a peak, and valleys always to the same low point, some way to form natural overhangs and more interesting shapes than a simple up and down.

    This would go hand in hand with bigger cave systems of course, though some thought would likely have to be given in regards to balance - it might be unfair one way or another for one team to have a monstrous cave beneath it, while the other sits above solid rock.
