Mafia: When things go from bad to very dead.

Well hello there, my friends! Yes, it is me, the noble Hella! What a glorious day it is for a game. How many of you know about the game called Mafia, yes I see a hand back there, excellent.

I feel it is time to introduce this marvellous sport into general circulation across the realm of KAG. It looked lonely without it...
The game will have a theme, which will, for the purpose of sticking to the general ideals of KAG, be medieval. For this game at least. Below, let me explain how to play this lovely game:

Overview!
Mafia is a game of wits; you must use them wisely to persuade your fellows not to ruthlessly slaughter you, whilst possibly ruthlessly slaughtering them in the night. The aim of the game is, to put it bluntly, not to die.
Every player is a townsperson, though the narrator will randomly choose several people to be mafia members, and a single detective and doctor respectively, depending on the number of players (i.e., if there are many people playing, there are more mafia, detectives, etc.).
In the game, the mafia do the killing, the detective can hunt for clues, and the healer can choose to save a specific person from the fate that may become them during the night. The townspeople as a whole, however, must be the jury; at the end of every game phase, after all the death has happened during the night, they must converse and vote upon a suspect, after providing a case usign evidence that everyone will hear upon the morning, which will in some vague way link the murderer to the crime. It is up to all to interpret the evidence given in order to come to a conclusion, although some will be irrelevant to throw you off the trail.

Game phases!
Each round, in private chat with the narrator, the mafia choose who they would like to kill. Generally, they go for those people who are most suscpicious of them, or who are proving troublesome in the long run. The person they select will be featured in a fun depiction of the murder scene the following phase, and they will be officially dead.
The same method is used by the detective, who will choose who they want to gather evidence upon. I will provide the evidence in private to the detective to use as they will at the beginning of the following phase, unless they died during the night.
The doctor also sends a private message to the narrator, selecting who he will save. He is allowed to save himself if he wishes, but he may not do it two phases in a row. If the person he saves was to be killed, then they will no longer die, and he will find out if he was successful at the beginning of the next phase.

As soon as each game phase has been opened by the narrator, the townspeople may begin to discuss their thoughts on the night, and make accusations. An accusation involves a vote at the end of ones post which will look like this example:

I vote to lynch Hella, because [reason - i.e. He is to jolly a fellow to possibly not be a murderer.]

The person with the most votes by the end of the phase will be put to death, their execution being mentioned at the beginning of the following phase.

Notes:
- You may reveal your identity at any time, although you are liable to suffer a painful death at the hands of the mafia for doing so; this means you can use your position as extra leverage in your case against a player. Alternatively, you may pretend to have a role you do not, for example, I could be a member of the mafia, but claim to be the detective in order to have [person] put to death.
- Once you are dead, you are dead. You may not accuse anyone, nor may you provide evidence against anyone. It spoils the game, and you may not be included in future games if you do so.
- You may undertake private conversations with any player during the game. In these conversations, you can share evidence and make alliances. You may also use private messages to concoct secret strategies and plans of action.

If you become inactive during the game, I may kill you.
If you cheat, I will kill you.
If your grammar is terrible, I will kill you (at least try to spell check..).
If you are a guard, and you unfairly use you powers to ban or silence players so that you can win, I will kill you. ;)

Would also be up for creating a passworded epicmafia game for kag people if we decide not to do the forum game.

 

So we decided to take things into our own hands and start a few games.

We hang out on #kafia on quakenet to organize games, come join us!

 

That was jolly good fun, but I don't understand why people kept lynching contrary and I.

Well, this was successful in a delayed way. I can still do the forum game as well, if you guys would like. Try and drag a few more people into the equation, until we have about 10-12 people, and I can kick it off.
At the moment I can see about 7 people who would play, give or take.
