An extremely original and amazing game, it has a 4 players loooong co-op campagin, "zombie" mode, pvp, and sp campaign.

That lets play was hilarious.And the game is good.

 

I like the game, shame my laptop is rather low end so the game runs rather choppy when there is alot on screen... IE: most of the time!

What makes me warm inside is that its made by Swedes... been to the same town as the development team... have a friend who went to the same school as them. :D

 

Yeah, I bought this just now. I've played it before, and was a little irritated by it.
Still, was fun, and I look forward to having time to play it during the holidays.

 

I downloaded for the free weekend, played for 5 minutes, and then wiped it.

Why? I have an integrated graphics card. Sure, sure, it's not a "gaming calibur" card, but it's one of the higher-end ones, and with it I can play TF2, Left 4 Dead, and Oblivion perfectly, and even Fallout 3 and L4D2 without too much slowdown. But Magika? Magicka doesn't register my clicks. I wouldn't say it's choppy, but it runs consistantly slow. I don't know how battle or even daresay multiplayer would work for my machine. I got through the first hallway before deciding that KAG was a better use of my time.

At first I thought it was just a setup problem, maybe an issue with the free weekend or something. Then, I googled it, and found a SPUF post by one of the official developers saying what basically amounts to "We're such a small team, we haven't optimized our engine for Integrated Graphics. We'll work on it sometime later maybe I guess". I admittedly don't know too much about computer hardware, but from what I've gleaned, that makes the engine flawed from the start, and the chances of them overhauling the engine are slim.

Which is a shame, really. I read through the manual, and enjoyed the humor. I like spell systems and upgrades. Hell, watching gameplay videos awakened something inside me that has been in slumber since the multiplayer college days of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. I wanted to like this game. It just didn't let me.

So, if you take anything from this- Don't buy Magicka if you have integrated graphics. Even if you can run similar games smoothly.

That's odd. I have a group of friends who all play it a fair amount, and I'm sure as hell none of them have anything BUT integrated graphics...
