What it says. I'd just be interested in seeing how a game plays when there's always two directions for attack.

Map size would have to be a bit bigger, and the map generator would need to be adjusted.
Oh and the whole rendering of wrapped parts, but I'm sure that's trivial.

This is an interesting idea actually. I think it would work best in a sort of attack defend game mode, as opposed to how it is now where the teams are split doing each.

Map wrap = When you go off the left side of the map, you come out of the right side.
So you would have a continuous map and each base would be at risk of attack from both sides.

An interesting feature this would allow is the possibility of game modes with 3 teams, as each team would be equally at risk when the map is wrapped like this.

When done correctly, you wouldn't be actually able to tell where the left or right side of the map are. The 2d world would essentially be a cylindrical plane.

This would lend itself to multiple team games really well.

Without map wrap, 3 teams becomes more complicated.
But if the map wraps around, a 3 team game would create some amazing conflict.

Map wrap and more teams! That would be great!

Domination gamemode: 4 teams of 4 colors. When one team destroy another team's main spawn, the defeated team becomes a "vassal" of the victorious team, maybe with reduced spawn rate or some kind of malus.
The vassal team can be claimed by another indipendent team, and is not vassal anymore if his ruler team is conquered by another one.
To prevent any form of revenge griefing, the subdued team cannot use their leader's door, but the leader team can use the vassal's doors instead.

Wins the team that defeats the three rivals.

    Cortex Command style.
Build thick high walls to prevent it,and you will loose resources for towers...
    Nice idea!

Well, to go a bit off-topic, CC has plenty of bugs and other stuff that make the map seam rather obvious.

Anyways, as cool as the idea may be, it just might be impossible to do with the current engine, at least without major rewriting (better spent on, say, making the game.)

I wouldn't have to exploit outpost glitches anymore, so I support this.

I prefer the term "Pacman Physics" :D
But I think it could work, and potentially be very fun.

Map Wrap isn't so simple to code.
Does anyone know a 2D platformer game that does that?

Yeah, fluid screen wrapping is quite difficult :/

OpenLieroX does it. Its not on by default, but its an option.
There's a few minor graphical issues where you can occasionally see the seam, but it works almost flawlessly 99% of the time.
