KAG Massive disconnects (again and again)

    Since 2 days both my servers suffer from massive disconnects, everyone gets kicked out of the server. This happens out of the blue, can't find any pattern this time. My host has no network issues, pings are normal until this thing happens. I suspect this has something to do with API. I think Beo has same problem. Come on guys, this shit is a cancer and you have to fix it once and for all.

    While it's all well and good to say we just have to fix it, there's been someone trying to fix this for the past few weeks - it's not as simple as waving "fix dust" in the direction of the game.

    If we simply roll back all the changes to API stuff til some known "good" date then we'll lose ban flags support -> global control vs griefers, hackers, abusers as well as compatibility with the new API.

    The solution we're going for is a freshly written API client by jrgp. I'll lean on him some more when I get the time, until then you can contact him directly for coping strategies (he hosts a large number of KAG servers and hasn't been complaining as much as some hosts)

    Happened to my US machine too. This makes me 101% sure that the problem lies somewhere between server and API or the server's software alone.
    @Geti The latest update didn't cause this as it was working fine until 2-3 days ago. Someone is "playing" with the API maybe ? or the API server has issues that affects servers. And this is what I am trying to say from day one. You have to find a way, a safety switch or something, so that connection problems with the API server won't affect the game servers in this way. I mean come on, I am paying good money to host the servers and it's really pissing me off that something that's out of my control killing my servers every other day.

    That's the whole point of the new API Client (included in both client and server, that "talks to" the API) that will be better threaded than the current one - the current one is "meant" to not block/interrupt the game in any way but it has bugs that mean that it can accumulate threads, slow down the machine and start to block play. The new API Client from Joe should fix all of those things.
