Middens + Gingiva; Crazy Weird RPGs from John Clowder

They're both crazy, surrealistic RPGs. Middens is about a wandering Nomad (literally named Nomad) who explores, "The Rift," a sort of purgatory where tons of different creatures exist. You first encounter a Talkative Pistol, who ends up becoming your main weapon. It's exploration based, akin to Yume Nikki, but has a much better plot in my opinion. Gingiva is about an automaton named Gingiva, and how she breaks away from her job at a factory producing useless shit, only to be imprisoned and saved by a talking set of teeth. It's more story based than Middens, which means the maps are a bit more linear and you don't have to explore as much.

The best thing about both of these games is that everything is 100% original; all the music, graphics, story, text, etc. John Clowder excels in an art style dubbed Collage, where he'll take old, public domain illustrations and combine them to make all kinds of weird creatures. They are pretty interesting, especially from an art lover's perspective! He makes some really interesting stuff, including his own illustrated Tarot deck he's putting in his new game, Where They Cremate The Roadkill. Here's a few of those!
