Online Windows 8: Metrotize your web

Hello KAG players,


Here's a project I have been working on for the past 3 weeks. It's currently called "Online Windows 8". As the name states, it's pretty much Windows 8 in your web browser. Have a look:

What makes this different from your average New tab page on chrome/firefox? It's creates a one stop destination for all your sites and adds a easy way to navigate the web. Here's how it works. I'll use the Grooveshark app for the example:


When you open the Grooveshark app, it looks pretty normal right? Here's some of the features Online Windows 8 adds:

When you put your mouse in the bottom left corner, the start overlay will show. Clicking on this will bring you back to the start screen

Also, putting your mouse in the bottom/top right corners will bring up the charm menu:

Got it already ;)
Would be nice if you could download stuff on it, but I belive that is impossible to code.(or is it?)

 

Nothing is impossible. I'll make an appstore soon with a way to install apps onto it. My team is looking into methods of installing apps currently.

 

I can understand your point of view, but it's not like it's the end of the world :|
Windows 8 isn't really different at all. The desktop functions exactly the same, and the start screen is only replacing the start menu. If you must have the start menu back, you can try ViStart.

 

Yeah, I don't see my self going to windows 8; will stick with this old XP PC.

Version 2 has been out for a while now, you can go ahead and download it from the online windows 8 site. Most updates will be posted on our official blog instead of here or any other forums.
