(The information is updated when new ideas come through)

My idea is that all classes could have the option (This would only really work in take the halls mode or Roleplay) to place your teams flag or a banner type thing on top of castles and towers.

This could be done when (for example) taking over an enemy tower to show then how you have conquered something of theirs!

It could be bought by a trader (by any class) but cannot be placed in your backpack.
It can also be made at a workbench by a builder.
NEW COSTS: To be bought it would cost 10 gold 25 gold or 15 coins 25 coins.
NEW COSTS: To be made it would cost 15 wood 7 stone 25 wood, 15 stone(or similar)

The enemy could destroy it or for 5 gold 10 gold or for 5 coins 15 coins or for 5 wood 10 wood it could be converted (again by any class) to the opposite teams flag/banner.

It can also be attached to someone to carry as a banner to carry to war!

It would add a nice feature (in my opinion) to the game, and in medieval times when going to war I think that they would carry a banner out of their king (or so forth) into battle and this would add that effect. (In fact I believe that armies carried banners into war for thousands of years)

    So...what do you think??? :)

EDIT: Somebodies idea, slow HP regeneration ?
I would say 1/2 heart per 15 seconds.

    New additional information:

:red:Can be placed on boats (long/war boats, dinghy's rafts)
:red:When carried by: Knight - cannot slash or use shield, only jab.
Archer - Cannot fire bow, only use dagger.
Builder - Cannot place factories, workbenches, can do rest.
:red:When in CTF mode cannot be carried with captured flag.
:red:Allows you to regain HP works by 1/2 heart every 15 seconds.
:red:Can be placed on catapults and ballistas.

:red:Can be placed in storage and/or compartments on boats.

(I am trying to make it less over powered)

So, what's the point of the banner aside from being a little graphical gimmick? If there is none, then it wouldn't be worth implementing. Perhaps it could somehow buff players around it?

It has the point of giving players a better (more medieval effect) gaming experiance.

Then all it is is looks and as monsteri said it would then be of no use, Unless if it were to have a buff

That could be a good perk of it, Oh and I know you mod, Would you be able to (not asking you to just curious)

And if its expensive it can heal all in the general Area

  8. everything is possible in beta (well, almost). there is no sprite auto-downloading yet, but they will add flag sprites for ctf soon anyway.

HP regenerating banner, I think it's a nice idea and it would change the way gameplay works too as other players would stick with the banner carrier to receive buff, it would make up for proper squad battles, should be tested as mod first.

    Good Idea
If you want to have a go trying it, go on ahead, just add me in somewhere as creator of it, (if you make a modded server with it can i be admin (lol))
Can you also send me the mod (if you make it) before you release it
the flaggy banner.png Here is my idea(yes i know it is basic, but its a start. :D

This is what i was going for :D :red: :blue:

That's a flag not a banner, I don't think you want to use it since CTF mode later on will confuse people, look at some samurai banners, they used to have them attached to their backs.

All you need to do is make a proper sprite that will not be massively big just extend a bit from the players back, here you have some examples, redesign it.

    Thanks man :D
I think the Nobori style would fit best, and yea i think that my modded classic flag doesn't really fit the task.

What about the banner draped off of a T-Stick? That flutters gently in the breeze, or rather with respect to current velocity.

Sadly the exampes I could easily find were from a medieval war game.

On wikipedia, it's pretty much a vertical flag on a hoisted crossbar, as opposed to the nobori's beam.
Other than that, pennants are cool, but that's what the ctf flag is going to be.

Anyways, pointing out they come in different shapes, mostly.
[And look at they, they have decorations too]
[Seems the swallow Tail, and Triangle are common themes, maybe excluding this one]

I'm not a fan of these purely cosmetic ideas. It doesn't add to the game-play, at least in anything but sandbox mode. However, a sort of buff/rallying banner could be an idea. If the benefit isn't too great. I mean, we do like the random havoc on the battlefield don't we? Too much structure would make it a different game entirely.

Generally, it's a big challenge to define a line for what goes into a game and what doesn't. There's plenty of stuff that "could" be in the game, but at a certain point the game-play becomes too complex. Next, someone is probably going to suggest adding horse mounts. Oops! :D

If you read the first post, it has a job. Slow hp regain. What is a rallying banner? How would it cause havoc. It's only a tiny mod to be introduced.

If you modified your suggestion to include hp regen, then that's a better one than the original, but I prefer the idea about carrying it on the back. Let's say only one banner is allowed at a time, per team.

I did not say it would cause a havoc. You misread what I wrote. What I meant was that this "rallying" idea gives more structure to the battles. I rather like the random havoc of unstructured battles we have currently.
