Hey when i saw my friend playing around with his iPad2 today i thought about if it may be possible to port KAG to iOS ( iPhone , iPad2)
I guess this would work out really well.

Im just curious if this may work, you said you gonna port it to MAC so why not iOs.

Porting to iOS properly would require a lot of extra work.
Particularly in the area of making the game decent to play on a touch screen.

I can't see this happening till the UI of the game is a hell of a lot closer to finalised.

If a game only uses keyboard (jump'n'run, racing, beat'em'up, etc.) or only mouse (angry birds, puzzle-games, etc.) it's possible to port it and very likely can become successful on such a platform. But every game which uses WASD for movement and mouse for looking/aiming is useless on a touchpad device imo.
So...no +1 for iOS from me.

It'd be quite simple, actually. The way I see it, a virtual joystick can be used for movement, while panning can be controlled by dragging the screen with a single finger. Two-finger click+drag would enable aiming/charging and releasing that would trigger the attack action. Three-finger could be used for shielding, I guess.

Either way, I'd rather that devs focused on getting the main game released.

Maybe far far far in the future, but we're talking a year minimum. We'd like to get it done before thinking about ports.

Implementing this game on a touchscreen actually wouldn't be that hard, as far as controls go. You'd just have to, you know, Frankenstein the game into working better on a system that doesn't use the mouse. Builder's a no-brainer.

And I'd personally go with an Android port since all you need is the Android SDK and general knowledge of Java to make stuff for it. Plus, it's open source; if you don't wanna go through the trouble of getting it on their market, you can just upload it to the website and install it that way.
