Had this idea a while back. They should do that and remove backwall

Why remove back walling? U can use it spread fire to enemy wood doors and blocks.Fill empty spaces with wood/backwalls You can get pretty nasty fire going

Maybe a designated item to cause fires? Like a match at the builder's shop?

That would make fire arrows kinda useless.

I like the idea of overheating drills causing fire though

I mean like something that won't make fire arrows obsolete, like you have to be right next to the wood in order to light it, and you can't directly light other players.

Well I already thought you meant that you need to be close but a match would just be a waste of an item, adding a new mechanic to the drill is a good idea but adding a new item for something that isn't necessary at all..nah

I think it would be interesting for a builder to try to build wood back walls to the enemy structure like a fuse and another builder lighting the wall with the drill/match. Enemy builders probably would barely notice the wood back wall.

I thought this could be a good way to avoid getting too rusty in modding, and to waste the 10 mins I finally got in front of the PC :>
Anyway, personally I dislike don't really like this idea. Mainly because I'm not a fan of fire, water nor lag.
I hope you could try this mod to find out the disadvantages of the idea itself, and criticizing it will lead us to a better one for sure. ;)
I made the fire radius a bit small (to avoid harming the environment/teammates/yourself/... that much) thus sometimes it won't burn woodenblocks but keep in mind that it will 'Always' burn wooden backwalls (so TBA_LordKnight's idea might come in handy here).
Feel free to edit, improve or change it the way you like.
    1)download it.
    2) extract it in your Mods folder (in your KAG main directory).
    3) add a new line in "mods.cfg" written in it fire_drill .
4)use the "runlocalhost.bat" for a singleplayer test or try it on a server.
